These are the 2.5 inch corvette center dumps with alternator mounts.

Anyone try this route with their K-series? Either on a K10 or K20? The PO had the exhaust run under the transfer case on mine. I got this picture off the web.

Sorry it took so long to respond, I got my 2.5 inch mandrel bent kit from MA Performance, for some reason it took them a long time to get the order sent out, but once I got it I can say I am pleased with the product. I choose the kit because it was 16 Gauge wall instead of the 18 gauge stainless and it was 304 Stainless instead of the more popular 409 stainless. I recently learned about the classes of stainless and the 400 class stainless (which most exhaust is made from) is more corrosion resistant than steel but it surface rusts over time given the conditions. 300 class stainless is the most corrosion resistant and is a higher quality stainless. MA performance claimed the kit was made by squirrelly performance. They offered a couple different sizes of kit and individual bends as well which i thought was neat. I used Magnaflows for my mufflers. and I can say it has turned out really nice so far. I will try and get some pictures taken and posted.

Kit part number? AND :wop:

IIRC, the pic is how the OE stock exhaust is routed.

Thanks for the clarification, the PO put long tube headers and a 2.5 dual exhaust on mine. The only problem I have with it is it was the passenger side was ran under the transfer case, it is a custom exhaust system from a local shop.

I gottcha, I wouldn't like it under the t-case either. It might be possible to have a shop re-work just that section & run it above the cross member. I guess it depends on where the passenger side header collector is.

After looking at yours, I see why they put it under the transfer case, save time and money, that looks very tight in there. I think my truck was put together in a sequence where the exhaust was one of the last parts installed. Now it makes sense, my seals and gaskets leak 90wt close to where the exhaust pipe is, I have to have to put old cardboard/truck diaper under it.

By the way, I really like your trans and t/case color combination, that looks bad a$$!

Tim, Thanks. So mandrel bending is worth 5hp? I'm guessing because it is more efficient at expelling the gases?

So im finally getting around to doing a new exhaust. Who has used the stainless works 2 1/2" kit? Looks like you need to purchase a seperate clamp and hanger kit another $180... ive called local exhaust shops and no one can give me a ballpark price... on making a exhaust.

That's weird they cant even ball park you. Been awhile since I had a complete exhaust done. I just asked a bunch of folks I saw at shows and automotive get together who did their exhaust work?

When I finally narrowed it down to a couple, the prices were close and I was very surprised that the cost wasn't even that steep. One of the more reasonable things I ever spent on one of my trucks. Funny thing is several years later on a truck I got from my neighbor it had a really nice exhaust and I asked him who did it. Same guy that did my first truck.

Yeah i've called three different shops... All said we cannot give you a price because too many variables. I asked if it would be around $800, $1000, $1500... no one would answer.
