Great work Henry! I'm extremely interested in your bagged 4 link too. Just started an s10 49 build and want it on air...

thanks guys, yes been insanely busy. rear link kit prototype should be started in next month or so. I'm itching to get my truck back on road. I'll keep you guys posted. Hoping by fall/winter to dig into the stock frame stuff. I got a really cool truck to prototype it on.

thanks. yes I love being able to work with these trucks in any way I can. bf I designed the s10 kit. I was doing quite a bit of inner kicks and inner to outter cowls. I always wanted to make different patch panels. I'm pretty busy now so the patches are on the back burner but I still do about a set of month for a recurring client.

Do you have jigs all set up for welding your brackets? I love taking a look at fixturing and how tool and die guys make things repeatable and slick.

Re: 51' 3100 build in PA New to Site

surprisingly I don't have jigs or a real welding table yet. I designed all my parts to work with dimensional things like tubing. So for example on my running board brackets, I use 1.5" tubing in between them. I clamp them and weld it up. On other stuff I use the actual part that goes into the anchor aka housing as the spacer. I then put a couple bolts in and also clamp it up. Iv had to redesign the parts many times just adding more and more space where I could bc I needed room to weld and the bolts to jig it up would just get in the way. Iv built quite a large vise grip collection so far!

I'm surprised you haven't made your own welding table by now.
I made my own with holes in it for clamps to slide into and clamp items to the table.

yeah its on the loooong list of things I need to do. I have a good system right now so I don't really "need" one but it would be helpful I'm sure. I work outta 3 garages so right now I'm spread thin. One garage needs a roof. Other garage needs some air line plumbing, bathroom redone. Exhaust fans need installed in all 3. I'm not even gonna explain why I work outta 3 different locations but right now its just the best for my situation. Eventually I'll have one nice big shop that is organized (somewhat I hope!) thats not even getting into my 51' I need to get back on road. my other business I'm trying to move, family and all the other things we tend to stack up on our to do list! As much as I like to build everything, some stuff I'm to the point I will just buy it. Welding table top would possibly be one of them. But if I decide to build one. I'll post it up. I really like the cart/tables I'v seen guys build. Very creative.

finally got around to my rear bumper design. These are designed to work with my rear bed mounts. They adjust up and down and in and out. I never ran a bumper on this truck, but most likely will. I plan to paint front and rear bumper with the interior color scheme. I think I'm leaning toward a black and gold.

We just shopped for a welding table for our shop. Was about $2,800 for a premade 6ft and we built one for $600 with heavy duty casters and all.

yeah I'm not some big time shop that could drop 3k on a table. I'd def build one. Been thinking about it lately but have to get roof fixed on one of my garages asap.

9-24-19 As we know summer and fall seem to fly by. Im behind as usual! Started putting the notches I made into my 51'. Almost ready to start prototyping the link setup. I need some DOM tubing and some other material. I decided to use DOM over sq tubing simply for looks. Anyway, with a 4" off frame and this little notch I should be able to lay atleast a 28" tall tire. I'm currently running 26", but they may change. Been selling alot of AD-S10 kits so thats been eating up all my time. Here is a cool truck a guy did using my kit. Not my link kit however.

Lastly here is the shirt I designed and printed for the 2019 AD nationals in Franklin Indiana. I donated a kit to them and hook them up with shirt design every year. The event keeps growing, unfortunately I haven't made it out there yet.

I'll keep ya posted when I get more done on the 4 Link. Its been two years since I have started tearing this truck apart. Need to get back on it.

Few more pics. The silver and red frame is cool. Ironically my 51' I used the same exact colors, this guy is from Florida. The red truck, ya'll prolly remember Joe Cates on here. He built a blue bagged truck a while back. Joe was the first kit I shipped out in January. His truck is going to be really cool. he updates on FB and IG I do believe. The last pic is a set of SBC motor mounts Chad Moss on here is using of mine. Chad has been making some big progress on his truck.

Re: 51' 3100 build in PA New to Site

thanks, yes I work about 5-6 days a week making kits. Things are going good almost too busy. I have another truck I'm working on that I'm tossing my kit on. Got a 6.0 with 4l80e for it. Not going to be as nice as my other builds but its something to tinker with. Still need to get my 51' goin. I have another truck I'll be using to prototype some stock frame stuff, starting with LS engine mounts. But for now, s10 4 link and some front end stuff is on board. Prolly get into doing some control arms at some point. I really miss building trucks even though I was so ready to be done with the last truck!!! But the Lord has me in this season and I'm very blessed.

sometimes it can be money well spent to have someone else do something that you would be a rookie at doing and take longer. they get it done right while you work on another paying job that wouldn't get done if you were to be on the roof. work for peter to pay paul if you get what I mean. the roof gets done and you pay for it with the cash you made doing what you do best.
I am learning that system myself. gotta let some stuff go. do what youre good at and let someone else do what they are good at. over time it evens out.

I feel yah there. I'm at that point in life where I'm getting to the point of having so much to do I need to outsource something. This site and builders have always been very DIY and that is def my roots. Never was a fan of kits or crate engines for that matter. Now I am to a degree. Its just hard enough to get a truck on the road, even with help of a friend, a car lift, having money, a kit etc. It just takes time. I'v made alot of new friends and helped over hundred people out this year alone, get their trucks farther along. Even out of that many people about 10% are driving them.

12-29-19 Hope yinz had a great Christmas. I started on my prototype 4 link but got too busy to really do more. I got alot of it moched up, prolly 1/3 way done. Need to get some steam rolling with it. I designed some running board landing pads and working on alot of other new stuff.

I have a 52' truck a friend and I planned to do. I started on it and aim to just buy it off him. I'll post up a build thread on that. 6.0 with 4l80. S10 frame.

2020 goals are to get the 51' back on road. Trying to get a part time helper for my fab business and maybe even to help me build these trucks.
