Well the truck is finally getting some colors still a ways to go on the paint work but getting there. the interior floor and firewall along with the engine compartment firewall are all raptor lined. There are a few areas inside the truck he needs to wet sand and do another shot of the blue paint to. But totally happy with how its coming along. Also got the spare tire electric winch assembly in place and wired in so that's done. Not thinking I am going to make my goal for moving back to texas next summer with all the delays so far :/ But the wife says git er done right and don't scrimp or do short cuts lol. Murphy has not had any room to cause issues on the truck so he has decided to pick on both my car and the wifes vehicle. uggghhhh just wishing he would go to hell in a special chamber where nothing ever fails!!!! my car ended up getting two new cam shaft sensors and the wifes lil truck blew its engine and the lovely stealership said ohhhhh 7 grand to replace it jeez I need a break from him!!!

also while the paint is finally getting done went through the main in cab harness and started writing down pinouts for the various connectors and removing the tie wraps in favor of electrical tape binding it tight.

Well the cab is back on the frame more yet still to do. Body guy will by next wednesday to wet sand and get it ready for the final clear and also finish the rear cab raptor lining. It's not fully bolted down yet. The body guy made a mistake with the front floorpan replacement so have to break out my mag drill and open the hole up a slight bit the get the driver side floor board bolt through. Will probably bore out a washer to take up the slack in the mismatched holes. Small problems. Next up get all the firewall bolts pull and cleaned up for the interior panels and mounting pieces. Then install the wiring harness and get a fuel tank to fire the engine over!

Re: 1964 GMC 3/4 ton build :D

Well got to looking at some bolting options for the cab to frame. definitely did not want to bore out the hole so dropped to a 7/16 diameter bolt and it needs slight clearancing on that one off hole. hrrrmmmm where can I get high strength grade 10's???? Well it looks like ARP saves the day again they have 7/16th bolts up to 5 inches so that problem solved. Of course murphy got in the works again. The dapper lights do not quite fit the headlight buckets /sigh . going to have to break out the dremel and clearance the holes just a bit. will post pics later of that fiasco... No word back after emailing dapper about the issue either.

Well here are some pictures of the completed head light assemblies. I had to open up a few of the mounting slots to get them to fit correctly. But looking very very nice quite happy with them. The guy and Code 510 gave me half off of them since they shipped after I got the refund from him. Apprently crossed in the email lol when I told him he said very much thank you and here's 50% off the order now :D
the first couple are the assemblies and the notches that needed opening to fit the headlights.

Well body shop guy finally made it over a lil more got done today. seam sealer is completely finished in the cab and now ready to raptor it on my next day off :D couple of the light spots need touched up and a few more holes welded shut lol. We also got the cab perfectly aligned on the frame with some kinda odd measuring thing he did just took a couple bunch and nudges. Also ARP cab bolts are in place and ready to go. Talked to my machinist buddy he is going to make me some custom stainless spacers to go inside the polyurethane mounts!

Also went back on the led tail lights I am building and designed the circuits slightly different so only have to worry about 2 wires coming from the housing instead of 3 so I can use the 1157 adapter plugs and merge it straight into the harness. Also a friend of mine mentioned trying to get the led panels to fit inside the lens instead of riding on the back so started experimenting with that. It is getting there just need more plastic and make another stab at getting them equal all the way around. I am giving the test set when I have them RTV'd to my friend with the suggestion :D

Due to the success of doing the LED lenses for the park and tail lamps I am going to experiment with cree hi power led discs and some focusing lenses in the back up lamp housings...... Will post my findings hehe.....

Well went and looked at the bed assembly off a 1961 chevy truck has a few minor wrinkles here and there and also is a horrible shade of pink but body guy says he can work with it. now I just have to save up and get it water blasted and cleaned so he can get it into his new shop and start painting and raptor lining it.

Still playing with the LED backup lamp setup more parts coming in next week after I blew up one of the led star array with too much current lol. the little led was bright as hell then 5 seconds later went flying across my garage rothflmao!!!!

After about a weeks cure time was able to finally start putting a few things back in the cab. the wiring harness will be going in soon as well :D. Got the Newport wiper setup bolted in and definitely a quality piece of work. Also got my old air heater/ac unit back in place and started looking at where to put the junction for the defrosters under the dash. Its gonna be danged tight up under there here very soon :D Old air just came out with some new vents as well here a picture of one of them.

The latest thing I have been working on is trying to figure out a backup light switch for my Allison trans. it does not have a external NSBU switch like the older ones. I bought one of the 5 speed models to try out so far it's taking some tweaking but I might be able to get it working. I talked to winters performance they guys who made my gated shifter and they do not have anything that would work :/

Well I had success with the Allison 5 speed backup neutral safety switch working perfectly only activates in reverse gear. Finished the front half the relay harness tonight for it. Will be working on putting the harness in tomorrow and bundling it up with the rest of the rear end harnesses :D .

I also got the heat sinks in for the backup lamps I am building with some star based led assemblies. The leds are coming in tomorrow night and will be testing out the various resistors my wife helped me figure out for them. The first led array I did not check how much current it could take and the little led flew across the garage trailing smoke lol. Luckily my wife know electrical circuits very well having been a medical equipment repair technician. I found the flying led last night it hit the opposite wall of the garage rotflmao ahhh the lil things..... I got two different sized heat sinks to see how much space they take up and it is looking like the shorter two will work best. I got the heat sinks drilled and tapped for a 10-24 thread bolt setup to secure it to the housing. cant wait to see how bright the leds are they are rated up to 1760 lumen so should be nice and bright.

And the last thing I started working on last night was a duct to go behind the dash panel for the ac vent. It is work in progress so far rough and ready but it should do the trick.... so instead of corrugated hoses running every where under the dash will have a couple short lengths here and there.

Well the leds for the backup lamps arrived and dam they are bright quite happy with them. still need focusing lenses and they will be all done but for some clear sealing RTV. Also got the hydroboost adapter spacer plate made for the firewall today. Waiting on paint guy to do final paint shoot on the cab before mounting the under dash support bracket and bolting the hydro unit on the firewall..

also stole an idea from American classic and made a harness mounting plate for the inner fender holes on the firewall. :/ again waiting on paint guy to finish the cab so I can start installing more stuff lol. Also got the AC duc mounted behind the dash still a few tweaks need to be made to it to get it completed.

Well the first vent duct didn't turn quite how I wanted it so I went back and tried a different technique and it came out much nicer and very slim fit behind the dash :D. Also got the brake pedal bracket and gauge dimmer module in the truck in the last few days. Also the adapter plate and hydro boost unit are mounted just need to get the column back in and can finish up the threaded rod connection to the pedal.
Unfortunately my computer mounting brackets are catching interference from the hydro booster unit :/ So time to redesign that and see what my options are there next.

Also spent the last two days installing the harness to see where adjustment to the layout were needed and got that all lined out. Sunday will be working on the computer mount and harness install. I need to pick up a brake master cylinder here soon so I can finish the master to proportioning valve brake lines.

well some more updates. Body shop guy coming over in a few weeks to hopefully get the final shot of paint and get the cab looking good. I don't quite regret using him but at times I want to stab his ass with a cattle prod/pitch fork oh well deal and go on about it urrrggghhhhhh!!!!! chassis harness is installed still have a few items on it to address but quite pleased with it's install and layout. Had to go back a do a few revisions on some of the layout but nice and done now!!! Still have to cut down a couple sections for various items but for most part done there! Also had to do a few mods to the Delphi bulkhead as the seal wasn't sealing all the way around the greatest. Drilled out a few more perimeter bolts on it and now it seals very nicely lol..

Also got the transmission thermostat roughed in trying to keep it clear of the alternators.... Which is another story still in progress lol. Thinking of doing a dual alternator dual battery setup but have not come to a complete decision on that just yet. if I do the dual alternators looks like a slight cut out of the inner fender will be in order to clear it for use. Definitely looking at getting a transmission temp gauge for it as well just trying to figure out where to mount it in the cab that looks good lol.

And I finished the final backup led lamp setup today and letting the sealant dry then will be ready to drop in place. Clears the lens by a hair but shines quite brightly so won't have any problems not seeing anything behind the truck rothflmao :D
