That’s one way to get a parts discount, open your own O Reilly’s. You are a patient man.

I just build them for O'Reilly's. I have built several and still don't have a hat.

I'm getting close to completion on the back of my 6-71. It still needs cleaned and a final once over. Now I have to do the bearing caps. They should go easier. This is a new blower with really nice internals stuffed in a classic case so I didn't want to take it apart to make things easier.

I have pretty much all the polishing stuff always looking for that magic bullet that makes it easier. I normally go with 220, 400, 600, 800, 1200, 1500 and then Tripoli and white followed by mothers by hand. I just tried the speedy compounds and was impressed. I was able to go with 220, 400 and go straight to the heavy cut and the fine cut followed by tripoli and white. It was a real time saver on these little sections. On something bigger I would still go with the sandpaper because it keeps it flat. There is a difference between shiny and flat and shiny. For some reason these things don't photograph well. It looks better in person. Thanks for the complement and thank you for your time.

Here is the entire staff of Lazy Hound Racing, Joseph and Mary. Joseph is a big ham and as soon as he sees me taking pictures he jumps in.

I finished polishing the back cover on the 6-71. I still can't figure out why the photos look so bad but it came out nice. I'm going to try to paint the bearing cap centers. I also replaced the bolts with ARP bolts because they are cool looking and made in Ohio, that's America!

I had the front and rear glass installed and hung the doors. This makes for a much more civilized driving experience ! I'm not completely pleased with the stance, I'd like to lower it in the rear by about two inches and rise the front a little. I did install new Camaro big block coil springs in the front but only helped raise it about 1/2". The rear springs(The entire rear clip)are from a 1986 c-10 so lowering leafs are available. I also ordered and had delivered a wiring harness from EZ wiring so my next two days are going to be busy.

The scoop came in from "Good Vibrations Racing" for my 6-71 blower in 4 days since I ordered it. This is made by "The Blower Shop". It's a really nice heavy piece.

Looking good. EZ is my favorite wiring kit.

I finally finished getting the blower and linkage ready to paint. The nightmare linkage was pretty nice but the castings on the little arms was pretty rough. I have noticed that the go fast guys and the pretty guys don't hang out together. When I hade my 5 stage dry sump oil pan made for the 292 I asked them if I could get it polished. He replied "why?'

DIAGNOSIS: Well Mick, if the go fast guys and the pretty guys don't hang out together, you're schizophrenic. I hope you can come to some compromise with yourself! :m3:

I stayed up way too late and did the painting on the blower and linkage brackets. 2K primer base and clear. They came out pretty good. I still need to polish the adjustable links and I think I will blue the pivot rods.

Am I the only one here that works on my truck? It would be nice to see more of what other people are doing. I already know what I'm doing. Anyway I finished my linkage painting and polishing. It's like the girls I date, not perfect but not bad.

nice job, as usual, on the polishing and painting. your truck is gonna look great. I dunno what mine looks like anymore. there is a wall of "honey do" projects piled up in front of it.

Posting a bit late but got my new motor that was built by Class A Performance in Nor Cal. It’s a 6.0L from an Escalade and EVERYTHING is NEW! Supposed to be 525HP at the motor. Also purchased a 3000 stall converter for my 4L80E trans.

Most of my parts are a "one off's". A lot of my costs are engineering fees. The next guy (or me) will be able to get them a lot cheaper. Just a couple of examples, billet crank, $8500 with $4000 engineering fees.
SFI damper $1000 with $500 engineering fees. Maybe I can help the next guy get them more affordably.

More in the way of fund raising for the 48. I dug the pair of 53 doors I had out back out and brought them around front but haven't cleaned them up yet. They would be great patina doors for anyone with a 52/53 that was forester green .

The working on the daily drivers to be able to drive them is eating my lunch right now.

Been working on paint blocking and bed wood fabrication. Talking to painters too. Sorry for the sideways photo, I rotate it but it still shows up sideways.
