You may be right, to date the links are still not changed out so we can see where it ends up. I’ve got some new repro factory-style links that are just a bit longer if needed. Besides the skinny tires should make for great handling you know!

Finished up the steering linkage and added our Center Line rollers to be ready. No shocks, calipers, etc. need it to roll and steer for now.

Very nice progress! It's getting really close now! Do you have a certain date you're trying to get it ready for?

Hey thanks Ryan, not really just enjoying the build (well, most of the time ).

A quick touch-up of the rear lower control arms before this stuff was mated with the car, that's also a final parting shot of the K30 in the background.

And yessiree, the Camaro is back to being a roller again! :ww:

A couple of days later we were at the 23’ C10 Nationals in Salt Lake City. Pretty impressed with the Kindig-It retractable top C10. Talked to Mrs. 7dee2 about possibly a multiple-tone paint job for our C10 project. We both liked the paint scheme on this truck.

Later we saw this Red & White 72 with the large Coys forged wheels, and the misses fell in love. Yep, she wants our C10 to be Red (oh yeah, her favorite car color ), and the factoryish two-tone works for her.

Perk’s is getting ready to black out the tail pan. Also, the dash and inner belt line still need some paint and should follow shortly after. Here’s some new garage wall art (a gift from Mrs. 7dee2), it’s a ringer for our Camaro! ;)

The blackout and interior paint are done and I’m a Happy Cat! :ito:

Thanks Kirk, it does feel good, we’re so close to having the car back.

A little bad news to report, apparently the rotisserie (or perhaps an operator?) was not kind to the zolatone trunk paint. It cracked in some areas and needed touchup, along with finishing off the trunk hinges that are now in body color. No worries, Chris will have it fixed up in no time while blending the hinges.

That's unfortunate about the small step backwards but I'm sure it'll be looking good as new in no time. It looks like it's all starting to come together now!

Thanks Tempest67, that’s a very sharp Tempest. I really like the blackout with gold, nice.

Sahweet! Here’s our first group of parts back from paint. They even left the holes I made in the wheel wells for adding new splash shields.

The last thing was a good squirt of 3M Cavity Wax Plus (link). Kelly sprayed the rockers using an extension, inner cowl, rear quarters, trunk drops, etc. until it ran out on the shop floor. Here’s our Camaro just soaking up some rays waiting for the trip back home. Yep, still a Happy Cat! :ww:

Thank you Tempest67, that’s nice of you to say I appreciate the kind words.

Holy moly, I’ve got all kinds of stuff showing up. I’ll start with a fairly new 21 GMC AT4 Canyon (link), and some new tunes for the Camaro (it’s all Kicker stuff with a Retro Sound head unit). And of course, our Camaro is back home now with the doors and one of the trunk lids. You would think somebody just had a birthday! Oh wait, that was around my birthday last July. If I hadn’t just used the Happy Cat jpeg I’d use it for this post, cause, you know Happy Cat!

Needed to remove the paint off these slip joints. Then a quick tape job to try and protect the pretty paint. I think the old rollbar is gonna look great, many thanks to Perks Customs for the continued great work. :metal:

A few more pics while turning the car around (makes for an easier workflow under the lift). Right before getting it ready for a couple more vendors (Upholstery & Exhaust). I know, it just got here, these jobs should be quick and I wanted the work done before last winter. :sumo:

I decided to sell my Whirly Jig rotisserie, we don’t need it for the C10 project. I've built body dollies from pallets in the past that work very well. Plus the majority of the metal work is done on the C10. My guess is Perks will probably use theirs when it is painted. All loaded up for a day trip to the Montana border (looks like it'll hit the back of the cab but doesn't). I’ll meet the guy and deliver his rotisserie then head for home.

And then some rework for the Camaro. The brand-spanking new upper control arm bump stops were just garbage, freaking brittle and they're hollow! I don’t get why they bothered to install this crap and not give the installer a note that they’re just for looks!
:m5:

Re: 67 Camaro Build

That is just crazy on the bumpstops, omg!! ...hollow???? wtf...
Hopefully your replacements are of better quality.

I was surprised, Geez Louise! :bs:

Better we discovered these crap parts now, it’ll be an easy fix with some new solid polyurethane bump stops. I'll also take the opportunity to change out those too-short steering bolts mentioned earlier.

While waiting for the new bump stops it’s time to start narrowing the back seat for our mini tubs. I started with the backseat bottom by pulling back enough of the new cover (see note) to expose the frame. After marking it, and placing a wet towel it was time to start cutting. So far so good, haven’t ruined the cover or caught it on fire!

Note: One of the first things I did after purchasing the original Camaro (it came with a complete deluxe interior kit) was to have the seats reupholstered. This was well before the new mini-tubed Real Deal Steel body was a reality.

Thanks, seeing the interior start to take shape is very cool.

The Cragar’s are going back on along with some paint protection (lots o’ blue tape) for the body, both inside and out before anybody including me can scratch the crap out of it. :sumo:
