Congrats on one drop-dead-glorious truck!

What did I do to my truck today?
Checked my tires/fluids then drove it (as usual).
Checked the fuel gage...low but drove it anyways! :)

Worked on my tai light turn signal with no luck. Aimed my headlights which seemed to help a little. Also painted my tailgate lettering. Still needs a little work but overall pleased.

Last night I took the passenger door apart on my '71 GMC and lubricated the window actuator and lock. I'd done the driver's side awhile back. I rarely roll the windows down but it's sure nice when they work like they're supposed to.
I zeroed the lifters again today 'cause they were clackin' AGAIN. I've done them both running and off but they keep getting noisy. New rockers, nuts, push rods, screw in studs. Bottoms of the lifters aren't worn. Original engine, 487 heads, supposedly rebuilt by the PO. Runs pretty good, good oil pressure BUT NOISY OVERHEAD, pretty DANG frustrating. Nice little truck, but it's PI$$IN' me off. I think I got them too tight today, it's running funny now.

I dreamed about it in the new Paint Jail......

I'll go by and give her a look next week .

You alls are making great progress and have some fantastic rigs ! :metal: .

My new Paint Guy seems unable to conceive that I want a restoration then I plan to put it right back to it's regular hard work......

All the other old trucks he's done , do the show circuit and he has photos of them with proud owners holding their trophies .

It's still cheaper than buying a new base model work truck and I don't like the new ones anyways .

Don't get caught pulling a trailer here in Utah. If they can't read your plate because it's flipped up they could impound the truck. My dad lost his van that way. And it wasn't flipped up, it was just partly covered by the trailer ball.

Just for local hauling. I guess it would take a real Nazi to jack somebody up over a license plate while turning a blind eye to all the red light runners! LOL

Must be the same little short cop that literally physically ripped the rear lisence plate Off my sons mini truck and threw it on the ground. My thought is, how are you really going to see the plate that well with a trailer back there anyway.

Tried again to get my brakes finished up. Still can't get the parking brake to fully engage so the truck continues to sit in jackstands

while i'm off work i replaced the bed floor with a mint condition floor i found. been an ongoing project cause while i had the bed off that led to replacing the rear coils then while doing that i noticed the trailing arm bushing were shot so replaced those. have the bed on and bolted down now and just finished connected the wiring.

can't wait to get it back on the road.

I know it's not like they can't pull forward and see the front license plate here in Oregon! LOL

Yeah, Tom.

You know Irene. Pretty refined broad.

But, in any situation similar to that one in which the guy was, as we say "carrying a heavy badge",
she doesn't always make the best choices in her communications.

The best for *me*, that is.

He could have, but the impound was $300.00 the 1st day and it went up after that. He and I are both on SSDI so paying a fine wasn't an option.

Finished putting side molding on. Also finally got the rear tires mounted today.
Tires and rims now all the same size 20x10 275x45's. Waiting for the door panels to get covered and I have to get to the shifter boot fitted. Maybe tomorrow...
