Maybe seeing first year for 67's , and could you get two tones before 67?, because of the white roof thats where the Special Paint designation came from before they had codes for 2 tone paint schemes.

You could definitely get a white roof in before and in 67 (66 two tone included roof and inside the trim strips on door/bed in white - or on a white truck, I believe red was available between the strips), but I'd have to assume the special paint code here is for the difference between interior and exterior(?) Agree it looks very original - good catch on the firewall chalk marks, that's more evidence of originality - doesn't look re-done. Would love to know the history of this truck. But what I'D REALLY like to do is buy that old crusty red 67 custom camper... :) Then again, the more I stare at it, the more crustiness I find... ha.

Nice truck.

The scam is to get working phone numbers and emails. So each time someone responds, they add that to the list of viable candidates for future advertising. :/ They get paid by click counts (like a penny for each email/phone number).

That's what the Android "Burner" app is for.
I use it for buying and selling on Craigslist. When the ads expire I burn the number.
I use a different number to buy with. When the spam picks up I burn it.

Nothing nefarious. I just don't want to deal with the phone spam and people calling/texting about my item months after it's sold and taken down.

I hear ya! If this were Aug. I'd be stepping up w/$$. That paint will still shine in most places. Drive it for awhile, then do it up right.

That title is not a legal title document anymore in NY or any other state.
I also have a NH title that was issued in 1992 on my 1984 Rabbit GTI that became title exempt in 1994. Again. Just an amusing piece of official looking paper that's of no real use.

From the NH DMV FAQ page. "New Hampshire does not title motor vehicles that have a model year of 1999 or older."

I worked for an AMC Jeep(my uncles)dealer in the 70's and delt with alot of 60's trade in cars . NY never issued titles for pre 72 cars. You may be mistaking the certificate of origin as a title.
I have bought and sold cars from the time I was 15 never in 45 years have I seen or heard of a title for a pre 73 car that was sold new in NY.

Sorry for the off topic postings .

Looks like a good deal, especially if you can do the body work. Good luck and let us know how you do.

69 or 70. The inner grill looks 69 to me.

Been doing it since I was 15. One uncle owned a body shop the other was a AMC/Jeep dealer. But at 60 hands dont work as well . Takes me longer to "feel" the panel work . Painting is a snap .

I agree, its probably a very early 69 that wound up with a 68 on its title.

I've seen this one a bunch browsing local CL while looking for parts. It does look doable, but not by me.

You're probably right. It's an embossed official looking piece of paper. I'll have to look at it.

It sure is, but someone went to a lot of trouble to install a correct non-Highlander black cloth Custom Deluxe interior.

I agree or just put a glovebox door from another truck. I mean the interior is totally changed up.
