Thanks Kyle. I got my pipes in today and it's going to take some time to get them built up. I see why a custom dual exhaust is so expensive.

Yep, it's a great fringe benefit. I'm always glad to help a board member out if you need anything. BTW, machinist can make some serious jack in Oklahoma:)

Nice work on the install. I did not know you could get a universal exhaust kit for welding up your own exhaust, thanks for the links.

Very nice work on the exhaust and the welds aren't to bad either. I bet it will sound sweet with the magnaflow mufflers.

Looks good man!

I also like how you threw in the part about casually making the bungs on the lathe. Like it's no biggie! j/k I know for you it's routine, but for the rest of us that's awesome man!

Thanks Kyle. Can't wait to get past this drivetrain. It will be downhill from there:metal:

Thanks, yep the kit is pretty nice for having different angles and bends. I could have gone all the way to the rear but it's just too tight for my liking.

Thanks John, Yep simple parts are routine. I have a ton of stainless scrap to make parts from too.

Thanks, I could run a cross over. It would have to have a slight bend to get it in there though. I researched it and decided to just go straight back. I think I can still add one?

Come on Al, I'm sure if I can do it you can too. I dragged it out over a few months. I would just walk away from it when I got frustrated.;)

Exhaust looks nice! Very similar to my setup. There is room for a crossover and you can snake the pipes over the axle and back to the bumper- it is just a PAIN. I used the same kit and have zero clearance issues even when aired-out into a bolt-in frame notch. Nice work :chevy:

Thanks man, I went back through your thread and found THIS. So yes it's definetly doable. Just takes more patients than I had at the time. Also, I think my homemade track bar mount on the pass. side takes up more room than the Cpp model? Not sure...maybe the angle of the bar? I'll try to get a pic.
Anyway, I'm glad I went back to your build from the start. I found a very cool mod. HERE. BTW, how the heck did you get so much done on your truck
in such a short time frame???? You kicked tail on that build. Thanks again for all the ideas.

Basically, I'm just going along copying all the cool things I find (and can scrape up cash for) on this board. I think that's why my $5k project has turned into a more like $15k project;) Big plans and changes coming on this thing soon......no it's not suspension or air ride that kind of change can come after I'm driving it.

Okay, I'll get right on it. Not much room in the shop. might have to tarp it.:)

It's all good Steve. You already know most of it. Let's just say this thing will look like it would have in 69 except ride height, wheels and when I lift the hood;) and the color has inspiration from your ride:metal:

Thanks Ben! I used the 11226 model with center / offset option.

HERE

It's kinda weird I ordered the offset/ offset like yours but they sent me the
center/ offset off of Ebay. I bounced back forth trying to decide on them I even talked to their sales rep. I guess they just sent me the wrong ones? Anyway they worked out good I think. I didn't want to wait another week to get new ones.

Totally understand the patience aspect- I think I have three full days in my exhaust.

The Camaro tach is a cool mod that looks stock to the untrained eye, but I can't take credit for it- just the documentation of it- nabbed that idea from a member here... As far as the kickin' tail; I was fortunate enough to have a bunch of leave saved up, a boss who didn't mind me disappearing every other week, a fiance who wanted the truck done for wedding photos, and who was keen on financing the build via the wedding budget :) Kind of a perfect storm of circumstances- it was a bunch of work, but now we have a 'restored' platform ready for future modifications.

Me too! This board is a blessing and a curse. I have stolen tons of ideas here and hopefully contributed a little along the way. So, LS drivetrain? :chevy:

I already have a small LS drivetrain.....It will receive a larger one. Just a matter of nailing the right deal. I have been looking hard core for about a year. I've found a bunch just not in my range. I really want a 6.0 but I will settle for a cammed 5.3:)

I should say this. My plans were to have a shaved drip rail..not any more. I am thinking of selling that cab since I'll probably never use it. To me that's the biggest single change. The other change, I planned on using repop parts on the trim. I have deal pending for all NOS mouldings. I have the grill already. I want it to look just about like it would have rolled off the floor with "minor mods".:chevy:
