To bolt up the front suspension and related components, I would just go to either Fastenal or a local hardware store and get some grade 8, 7/16 -14 bolts, SAE flat washers and top lock nuts. If you need to know the lengths, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

That would be awesome because I dont have the first clue of sizes. Do yoy have an idea of where to get the concave washers rhat fit on the studs of the ulper control arm?

If you can't find any, I can look through a box of misc hardware from over the years that might have some.

There's also another option.... I've ground the shaft flat in that area so a standard flat spacer can be used. This was during a disc swap & various years of parts were utilized. I don't know exactly what you have but I know there's more than one way to solve the dilemma.

John not sure what all bolts you're needing but a local place here has full front end bolt kits for a littel cheaper then going to the hardware store and they are correct length and tapered.

http://sokyclassics.com/product.php?skcid=1003942

They also have a stainless option and they are really quick at shipping.

Best of luck!

John,

Are you looking for item #9 in the attached diagram or the round washer that is flat on one side and concave on the other side that goes against the frame between the frame and the shims (item #8)?

Hi Ed.....Yep these are some that I am missing.

Mainly need the suspension bolts right now...bolts that mount the cradle to the frame, motor mount bolts that mount the pieces to the cradle and frame.
I bought some new u-bolts for the lower control arms.

also needing the concave washers that go on the studs for the upper control arm mounts...I think they may be called camber washers????

Of course will need the bolts that mount the hinges to the doors and truck, bolts for the door striker, windshield wiper motor.

The smaller interior screws I can buy from what Ive seen.

I "Think" that a lot of the chassis bolts are simply grade 8 bolts, Im assuming but don't really know the sizes....got some figuring to do.

Ive been looking for rusted out old wrecked trucks but no luck....Figured the bolts would be good.,

My goal is to get this thing back together, painted or not and then drive it...tired of seeing it in pieces.

Andy and I have been swapping tools in the mail, wire strippers, etc.....and Andy is redoing my instrument cluster for me as well so that's gonna be good.

I also ordered my 5 lug rear axles from CPP and they should be here next week.

Ill get them swapped out and hopefully be able to get some bolts to mount the front cradle so I can make the chassis a roller.

I have bought some Ridler 5 spoke Chrome wheels that will be here next week as well so once I get the chassis stuff back on then I can roll the frame around.

cradle to the frame - Like captainfab said they are grade 8's from the factory, I purchased new ones.
the concave washers - POL has new ones. Or contact Aspen Truck Parts in Arizona for used.
Hinges to doors etc. - I used LMC Truck Parts.

Karl,
The ones I took off were round, if I remember correctly one set had a concave face and one set had a convex set.
Based on the drawing you posted they definitely go ion Bolt #7

That is the one I was trying to describe. I have seen them available from somewhere but can't remember where.

I see that Rocknrod found a link to a similar part at POL, looks like those should work.

The more stuff I do and buy for my truck the more I am amazed at things and how businesses are run...Some you can tell are small businesses and try their best to take care of the customers, some seem like bigger businesses and don't have a clue.

For example....I bought my wheels and tires from a guy in Atlanta, Russ.....I told him what I had as far as vehicle, told him what I wanted and poof....he has them on the way. I paid 1750.00 for Ridler 5 spoke wheels...there were mounted and balanced with a set of lugnuts and were delivered to my door, when they said there were gonna be here...in perfect condition.

Second example is I got my rear axle conversion kits yesterday from CPP....They sent me 4 boxes...and boxes weren't damaged...So I waited until today when I got my wheels to make sure they mated up. Come to find out they sent me an extra kit of axles, drums etc....Of course trying to do the right thing I called them....and after waiting 20 minutes on hold they had no clue that 1. that they sent 2 sets, or 2. how to get them back. I checked my account and I was only charged for 1 set. I asked the guy to send me a call tag and have the extra set picked up....it was like a foreign concept.

Anyways they were the right ones and mate up to the wheels perfectly.....One last thing is that I paid 344.00 with taxes and of course they are made in china.....Im amazed that they can make these, send them on a boat and be cheaper than if it was made here.

Dadgum, those are some fancy wheels! That is pretty weird that they didn't even realize they sent 2 sets for the axles

Thanks Christian.....yeah I could have kept the extra set and they would have been none the wiser...BUT that isnt the right thing to do.
They eventually did sent me some return labels and Ill get them sent back tomorrow....as they say....Never wrong to do the right thing.

Re: Johns 66

Welp I have ordered some grade 8 bolts from Wholesalebolts.com...so we will see how that goes.

So I went over to my brother in laws, Randy's shop to check on ole girl.....and didn't like what I saw.....There were about 3 places that the primer had cracked and flaked off...not really sure why...
Im gonna go to a local body shop and see what they say it could be...Im afraid I will have to take it all back down to metal...but would rather do that that have the paint flake off. They sprayed my buddies truck a few years back and did a great job...may see what it cost for them to spray the color, especially after the cracked primer revelation.

Also found a shop to rebuild my rear end and do the axle swap for me.....gonna run me 150.00 but think its worth it...don't want no issues with the rear end......so Ill get it pulled out this week and get that taken care of...And when the bolts arrive the chassis is going back together!!!!!!!

I found a set, but they are slightly thicker than the one in the picture. $10 to cover shipping and they are yours if you want them.

Karl...Pm me your paypal. I really appreciate it.
Do you happen to have the big washer bolts that go on the inside at the bottom of the front fender?
