Doesn't it give you a thrill to see it looking somewhat truck-like again? Looks great! Glad to see you back at it.

Looks good is everything going to work? :metal: How close does the over under box shifter get to the dash?

Thanks! Yeah, it's good to see some progress happening again. I wish this was the final time of the cab going on, but what do you do.

Thanks! I don't quite know yet. I'm going to put the seat in it this weekend and find out. I'll snap a picture of the clearance between the shifter and the dash.

Not bad, doesn't look like a knuckle buster to me. Good for you and it looks like the bench should work no problem as well. Little custom work on the high hump and your ready to go...

Yeah, I put the seat in. I'm going to have to straighten the main shifter a bit, but all in all, not too bad!

Just need to change the angle of the stick.

A picture my wife snapped off when I was sitting in the driveway making my best engine sounds. Man this thing sounds like a beast!

Attachment 1219085

I think the engine fits really well. No need to adjust the firewall or anything.

It's going to be slow for a little bit. I'm heading to Florida on Sunday, then East Philadelphia next Monday. At least Florida will be nice

Nice progress, Mike. It only took you 4 hours to run those brake lines? Man, now I really think I should have got that other bender.

Making engine sounds is ok, but when you start yelling at the neighbors to get out of the way from the cab of your disassembled truck, it might be time to step back a bit and relax...

Well, 4 hours of actual working on it...I'm sure there were many more hours staring and drinking...I mean thinking about it. I really like the benders I got. They've worked out really well.

Not much progress to report. I did start working on the rust repair on my radiator core support. I noticed also that the core support needs to be straightened out a bit. I am kind of proud of this piece. It's all hand formed!!! :)

Fab work is always appreciated, as yours is. My favorite skill and I build engines.

Let me guess, angle iron in a bench vise as a metal brake right? Turned out really good!

Good job Mike. I cheated and bought this one for $50. Doesn't look any better than yours.

Looks really good. I've got similar stuff to do with mine in the near (hopefully) future, too. Now I see what it should look like, anyway.

Thanks Brett...had I known there was already a patch piece, I probably would have just bought it :) Mine doesn't look as crisp as yours, but hey...nobody will ever see it buried under the battery and all :)

Thanks Nick!

I'm hoping to get the support over to a sandblaster this week. Then buy more paint and check that off my list. I did notice that the bottom is kind of pushed in from the deer damage. I'm wondering if I'm going to need to straighten that out, or if it should be ok.

Oh, Brett...If you come across a driver's fender, keep me in mind :) I did find one in Roy for $55 on KSL but I haven't called on it yet.

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"

Parts run day today! Found me a decent grill and drivers fender for $60! I think that's worth the hour drive to go pick it up :)
