Thanks.

Finished the interior today. Next week I'll be focusing on the outside, installing trim and engine bay detailing.

It's beautiful! The orange plaid in the white is a perfect match.

I tackled (but not finished) patching my hardtop that the original owner decided to put a sunroof in. I could not locate a top and decided to fix the original. I have attached a before shot and then a shot of the outside top and an inside shot. The pain job is temporary as Ill probably paint the entire thing next year. This was a bear to fix as the inside has lines in it and the front header to deal with. A little more filler and sanding inside then some quick paint.

Awesome job. Can not tell you how many tops I've seen with holes cut in them; Why?

Not mine but my buddies had a leaky pinion seal and a "clunking" noise....
replaced the seal and found where some PO had once been in the carrier and hadn't shimmed the carrier bearings correctly...
it had about .020 side to side play......

fixed it all and replaced the u-joints....and since he's an electrician....we pulled some wire and put up some lights in my addition....
rained all day, but we had a successful day...!

Attachment 1702772

Discovered it was a a limited slip

Got it all back together today, started right up and got the engine to operating temperature. This is the last picture before the fan, radiator, core support etc. covered up the front area. I had the upper alternator bracket in the wrong place that's fixed now. Also I've got to move the water pump bolt/stud to the correct location on the waterpump(thanks Pete!). Glad I put water in it as I found a pin hole in the upper radiator hose too.

Finally got my 72 interior apart and ready to replace rusty floor boards, kick panels, rockers and most of where so many rot.
Bought a 72 P/U cab & chassis with good parts and cut the floor out.
I know many of you don't agree with ruining a good truck cab, but at 5K to fill my list of aftermarket parts, I decided to do it this way. Beside, it's fun.

Any advice from those of you that did this, is appreciated.

I'm sorry if the pics came out upside down, I'll see what I can do.

Brian, nice job. Where'd you find the matching material?

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

I used a patch from a parts hardtop...smc resin and painted with a white rocker panel molding paint from Napa that sprays textured. Ill use a bedliner and paint the whole top.
