I read a previous article that was similar. Decided to go with Extreme Automatics due to they're race history and work in manufacturing their own valve bodies and shift characteristics . Although the company in that article is way more famous.
Oh, did you ever get that converter dust cover?

I did get the cover.

I'd read where that source was hit & miss on things. Ultimately, we went back/forth on 'interpretation' of the communications. What seemed so obvious in his mind did not translate over to what was written in his answers as there were key details left out.

Lesson learned. They'll only be a final-option source in the future.

Well it's winter, I thought I'd do a little cleanup and exhaust manifold change-out.

I expect that my engine will run a bit warmer after I conduct the carb re-work as I am changing the jets and the metering rods. When I pulled the plugs they all showed a very rich condition. After searching the internet I find the Street Demon comes in a very rich set-up from the factory for some reason. I think I have it nailed though. :)

Did those reduced head bolts come with the manifolds or did you get ARP bolts?…
Those look great on that engine……

Those are ARP. :)

I just got the engine stabbed in today and started torquing the trans to engine bolts. What a pain in the keester that is. I took a break, think I'll continue tomorrow. ;)

Man, that would make me nervous to remove and reinstall that engine with all the new paint around it. Good idea with the towels and pads

Piece of cake, I bought those moving blankets years ago and re purposed them to my shop.
Also just FYI I purchased an articulating engine lift device from Mac's years ago. The first time I installed the engine I had removed the front end, easy. This time I thought it would work as is. Kind of tricky had to remove it over the side fender area. I'm sure a simple engine lift plate would have been better in this instance. I just didn't have one. ;)
And I'm not removing the hood!
