The cover is from CRAFTEC in Texas Part# 251185... Fits stepsides great. A little pricey but worth it IMO.
Go on their website for details.

I like the tilt front end...Very cool !

Re: pictures of shortbox stepsides

Oh yea, that's probably why I didn't see my truck in this thread.

Just to remind you guys, I have two amplifiers under my bucket seats for my killer stereo system, so I used all that real estate in the engine compartment to add two tool boxes for tools and fluids.

Very cool!

Try that with a new truck. :D

Re: pictures of shortbox stepsides

I like that idea. If I did it they would spill out every time I opened the hood.

BRL 08-02-2021 02:13 AM

Re: pictures of shortbox stepsides

HA! maybe you could suspend them from a swinging cable attached to the underside of the hood.

Love the tilt front end, I think a low profile cowl-induction setup would really make it stand out even more.

...oh yea, beautiful paint job!

Thanks BRL that paint is 20 years old now. And they came out with the cowl hood after I welded mine together or I would of had it. Is your truck 2wheel or 4 wheel drive?

BRL 08-02-2021 03:00 PM

Re: pictures of shortbox stepsides

It's just a 2-wheel drive, the PO told me it was an OD green Bell Telephone work truck and every now and then I find clues that he was right.

Changed out the IL-6 3OTT for a 350/350 combination.

4:11 was too steep so I put in a 3:08 (3:07?) rear end.

I really had no idea these trucks were so popular, I found this one for sale in my friends driveway when I was looking for a quadrunner hauler and that saved me from searching around used car lots ect.

That's the paint job I bought it with 26 years ago but yours looks real good!

Hey, I said my 1969 Stepside was a Bell Telephone work truck, I didn't say I worked for them!

Heck I ain't that old...well, I was born in October of 1957 so you may have a point there.

Naw, I have an awesome stereo system and bucket seats so I'm still young and with it. :smoke:

BTW, that picture counts as a sort of semi 'Sideways Saturday' shot. :)

Once again it's very nice BRL, not overdone.

BRL 08-04-2021 01:44 PM

Re: pictures of shortbox stepsides

Well thank you for the complement, but to be honest, the only reason it isn't grossly overdone is because I lack the money and the talent. :o

I just try to keep it on the road these days.

My baby having breakfast...oh, and that counts as a pre-'Frontend Friday' shot.

For somebody who forgot to post pictures on this thread I certainly have made up for it eh. :D

Stay stock with just a bit of ''all out''

Wow you've had yours 40 years!

Sure looks awesome now!

Getting together would be fun but somebody (me) wouldn't dream of going to Oregon unless I was followed by my own fuel tanker truck.

...MORE PICTURES! :D

My work in progress. Building a cruiser not a hot rod. Disc brake conversion, electronic ignition, moved tank to rear, 2-1/2” / 4” static drop. My plan is to drive it in patina for a while and make up my mind on color.
