Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
I wonder if there is a difference between 69 and 76 rear drum brakes? I've got some brake parts laying around from a 76 K5 donor if they are the same.

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
Well, another delay is happening, but this one has more to do with the future home of the truck :D. We just bought a house that will have more room so that I can build my dream shop! I hope to have the shop done by the fall. This will definitely put a damper on forward progress, but I will have a little bit more room to work with as soon as we move. Hopefully I don't lose any parts in the transition

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
Congrats on the new house Mike! Thinking Ol' Blue will look right at home in a new shop. :mm:

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
Awesome! The rest of us can dream along while watching your shop progress.

It's been a bit since I've been on here, but progress on the new project home is coming right along! I'm hoping within the next few weeks we will be doing the flatwork. Attachment 1835536 Attachment 1835538 Attachment 1835537 Attachment 1835539 Attachment 1835540 |

Well, here we are a year into the new home and the shop is coming along nicely. The framers took their sweet ass time, but it's finally getting electrical tomorrow. Concrete, stucco, and epoxy are the next big projects coming up. Soon the truck will have a comfy space to work on it!

Beautiful shop! How tall is your roll up garage door?

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
Good to hear from you Mike. Looks like a nice shop going up. With that height, looks like a partial loft might be in order for storage space you'll surely appreciate.

Well, I guess it's time to stop screwing around! The #bigassgarage is ready to roll for now hahaha. It's not 100% done, but I can now get the truck moved over in the next couple of weeks. Already moved 2 of the 3 non-running vehicles into it

Looks real nice inside now Mike. Is that sheetrock that you used on the walls and ceiling? I'd hate to be the one putting up that high ceiling! Still debating what I want to use for mine.

In one of our coal facilities in Texas, they lined the office with a material similar to white board because they wanted something easy to dust off. That's what I was going to do, but that would have meant I would have to do the installation and I didn't want to haha. |
Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
Looks great, your going to love all that extra space!

Well, I think I'm finally ready to start making some progress on the truck. I got the frame dolly completed so I can get the '47 up in the air and now I have some room to maneuver

Ok, so I did a thing! I knew that I wouldn't be happy with the 350 I put in this truck. So, I found me an LS 6.0. It is an LQ4 out of a 2004 van. Mileage was unknown, but everything seems solid. Once I get it off the trailer, I'll start digging into it to make sure all is well. Then comes the added expense of putting it in the truck LOL.

:metal::metal::metal: I'm glad to see someone doing things to their project, seems all I have done for the summer has been watch things pile up on my truck! Sweet lift you've got there too! |
