I've been lurking for a while now. Finally have my truck lowered and sitting on some decent wheels, so I thought it may be time to post some pics. I'm feeling conflicted. I'm a fan of the patina look but not sure if 1982 is old enough to rally pull it off...

It's dropped with 3" Belltech spindles and lowered springs (heated to lower 3"/done years ago) and flip kit with straightened leafs and notched. It has helper bags out back to raise it to even it out.

Thanks for the kind words. For me, it's makes a world of a difference when a truck is lowered.

That's the first truck in a long time that I've verbally exclaimed "wow!" When I saw it. Nailed the stance!

one of the best I have seen on here. love the whole look, patina, etc. i'd patina the primered hood to match the rest. maybe some door signs to match its heritage (City water department meter reader?)

not crazy about the white walls and full wheel covers. i'd do dog bowls and black tires (don't hate, MHO).

I finally lowered the front of my '86 it has some weight in the back so it dont normally sit that low, But i do plan on flipping the back. We chopped 2 coils off the springs and it lowered it 5 inches, not to shabby.. P.S. wheels are for sale, lol

I do want to add that the front of this thing sat REALLY high, we think it might have had over sized springs in it. I do plan on lowering the front more also.

Down to bare metal to find all the PO surprises :banghead:.

Shaved the drip rails, handles, emblems, gas door and replaced with pop up gas cap on bed rail.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

its rustoleum paint mixed down 50 % with mineral spirits and rolled on with 4 inch foam roller sanded between every 2 coats has total of 8 coats then sand and buff cost $ 50 but really cost $ 160

Yes it was.

Since seeing your truck I've been on the hunt. A little personalizing and this little shorty will be perfect.

Will cutting two coils off the front springs and doing a flip get the truck about five inch lower?
