Started out a 30' diameter grain bin. I cut a 10' high 12' wide door in it. It was 24' from the slab to the top of the walls. I went up 12' and put in a floor. It has a wall hugging stairwell going up to the upstairs and room for lots of parts. You can get two trucks inside and close the door but it's a bit tight. It is better suited for one with lots of room. I added the 24' X 26' slab and awning for a little more room. It works for me. :exit:

I think that is a great idea. How well does it retain heat in the winter?

I use a kerosene 110,000 BTU gun type heater with a thermostat set on 65 degrees. It kicks on 3 or 4 times an hour for about 5 to 7 min. to maintain the temp. It would be better if it was insulated but I don't use it enough to justify it. I don't do a lot but need a place to play every now and then. :exit:

It's still not a garage so I still have to go out to the driveway to work on tehe beast, but after removing the oil heat and the tank I was able to get a decent place together to work on portable parts.

I wish I had a nice fancy shop to show you guys. But unfortunately that is only but a dream. Infact I'd give almost anything for just a simple two car garage. Hell, I could be happy with just a single car garage. Anyway, here is where I work on all my projects.

The beauty of it all is that you get more accomplished outside than I dare dream of doing inside.

Anyone know of a good site(s) where you can find diagrams, blueprints, maybe walkthroughs, etc. on building small pole sheds? I'm not seriously thinking of building one as I have a 40x100 shed at my disposal right now and am in University (therefore no funds lol), but would like to see how they are built, what goes into building one, and if you can build one by yourself with little previous experience.

My operation. After i got my land -- i built my garage before i built the house because i had too many toys and was single at the time. Its a 40x30 and the ceilings are only 8' , but it has been working so far. There is a big loft above it that i reside in until i can get a house built, and i built the garage to match the house;s planned appearance too, but some day when the stars are aligned correctly, i hope to be able to do a 60' x 40' with 12' ceilings and enough room for all my projects ---- i hate to have trucks sitting outside in Oklahoma --- hail storms piss me off

Here is mine. I'm thinking about insulating it and maybe painting the floor and turning it into a man cave for pool/beer and all that stuff. It's just too small to work in it seems like. It's a 20x25 and can't be over 7 feet tall or so on the inside.

These are the only 2 pictures I have.

Here is mine. It started out as a 26'x32' pop can redemption center. We tore it down and rebuilt it and added another section to it. It is 30'x39' right now and I am planning on adding another 25'x30' section before it snows. I still need to paint it and add eavestroughs. The work is never ending. LOL These pictures were taken last winter. We tore down this building in June 09. We tore down our old chicken coupe shop on the last weekend of October 09, and were finishing up the sheet metal the last weekend of November 09 before all the major snow. We had to bust tail because we could only work on it during the weekends. We sure got lucky. LOL

Not the best "shop" pictures, but they work. 1st one is right after the new '65 C-10 was brought home. The '79 Camaro pictured is my Baby. She's been with me a little over 10 years now, and has gone from a rusted heap rescued from a back yard to a really wicked street machine.
Attachment 630752

Second one again shows the newly aquired '65, but shows roughly how deep my little shop is. It isn't very huge, but it works quite well for now. Also show off a little of my die cast collection :)
Attachment 630753

The other side of the shop; the Hot Wheels wall :metal::lol:
