Wiring is going really well, actually. Nothing picture worthy, but I’m plugging along

I see what you did there...:smoke: Just remember wiring isn't to be taken lightly.

Hahaha!!! I actually missed that the first time I read it!

Just for inspiration, here’s a passenger side shot

No pictures, but I’ve made some really good headway on the AAW harness. I also decided to abort the EEC IV EFI stuff and switched to Holley Sniper EFI like I’m using in Walter. I am selling off all the EEC IV EFI stuff to fund this change. I’ve got the Sniper EFI and an Edelbrock RPM AirGap Intake plus the Holley HyperSpark box, coil & distributor coming so I can control the timing with the Sniper kit too. Should be pretty simple to go this route.

Got some more wiring done and a gratuitous shot of the Sniper and Air Gap in place.

Thanks flashed!

I’ve got the AAW harness completed. I’ve also got the Dakota Digital gauges installed and working. Still have a few wires left on the Sniper EFI setup and then the wiring will be done. Still need to get the fuel lines, radiator & lines, and all the other new motor stuff worked out

No pictures again, but I did some more work. I got the “Falcon...Powered by Ford” cast aluminum valve covers modified to accept the FMS reusable gaskets. Also got the roller rockers installed and adjusted the valves, so the valve covers are hopefully on for the final time. The list is certainly getting shorter. In a perfect world, I may be able to crank it this weekend! #fingerscrossed#

I lied, I added a pic. The lip I’m pointing at won’t work with the Ford Motorsports reusable gaskets, so it had to go.

Thanks Doug.

I got a couple more small projects done tonight. One of the starter bolt holes was stripped by the previous owner, so I put a helicoil in there. Then I pulled some ‘0’ gauge power & ground wire from the front to the trunk for the relocation of the battery....what a PITA!!! That’s some big wire.

Thanks Adam! I’m stoked to continue moving forward.

Issue tonight was that we had some HORRIBLE rain and such and my shop flooded. But nothing appears hurt...wet, but not hurt.

Yeah Greg,

We got 6” of rain here in a matter of roughly an hour and a tornado about 2 miles south of us. We spent several hours cutting trees for some friends that had damage from it...hence why I’m not ranting & bit€hing about my water encroachment.

Re: 1963 1/2 Ford Falcon aka Martha

Well, after cleaning, vacuuming and cleaning some more in the shop, I got a chance to tinker on the Falcoon.

I got some more wiring done. I got the wiring far enough to actually turn the motor over with the KEY!!!

nlped 03-16-2019 08:45 PM

Re: 1963 1/2 Ford Falcon aka Martha

Well, either my old @$$ battery or the starter that was in the previous motor...or both are crap, so I’ve gotta replace both to get the motor to turn over more than 25 rpm. I’ve got fuel, spark, 180+ psi compression, and the Sniper seems to be working appropriately, so I’m at a dead stop. :whine:

It isn’t the battery as I bought & tried that to no avail. So, while I wait on the starter, I tried something else I found in my collection of parts... I just didn’t like the idea of filling the tank inside the trunk. And the stock fillers are notorious for leaking...hence the clear being gone under the cap.

Well, it isn’t the starter or battery, so I’m going to have to do some more intense electrical research. But, it’s my youngest daughters bday/spring break, so we are doing some family bonding. :)

Heads up...there ain’t a leanin’ tower in Alabama.

I’m doin’ some rep’ing for Slosh Tubz international. :metal:

Cool Car!!! My Mom had one when I was little same color and all. I think it had a 4 or 6 cyl. She traded it to my grampa for his '65 Fairlane 500 I'd say she got the best deal!!!

Exactly why I chose this car! My mom’s first car was an exact copy of this one!!!

My dad helped me put me the new motor in it.
