I got some soild stainless lugnuts from ebay, its looks like they kicked them from Fl to Oh so I put them in the lathe and tuned em up ! I like everything that can be stainless be stainless! I searched for stainless tire valve stems for a long time never found em with a .453" hole ,the only bad part with stainless, you must use some sort of thread lube,I use megalock sealer it has a bit of teflon in it , Jamie

What spark plug wires did you get? Were they advertised as bellow the header or what? I want to make sure I get some that can be run nice and neat like yours. Also, where did you get the plug wire holders you have? Thanks man!

Thanks, Yep they are under header 409 taylors , I made the holders from solid alm 3/4"x 1/2" drilling 11mm holes and then cut them in half , when I first put it together I had the 502 style valve covers so I made a spacer to clear the roller rockers so I welded the holders to the spacer , then I got the bigger cover that I like better , but my wires were hooked to the spacers so I left them on , I made the spacers using 3/4" aluminum round stock with a 1/4 hole in the middle bolted them to an old head then made connecting parts using 1/4 x 1 " flat stocks bending the ends to match the head ,then welded the whole mess together , I got my fans today, more pics !

Don't mean to beat a dead horse but I have another question about your plug wires. Did you get the "universal fit"? It looks like they only have red and blue wires in the custom fit but they also have black in universal.

Thanks guys I've been tryin to get somin done, finally some nice weather ,No problem, I bought the wires a couple years back when they offered them in black, they were assembled , I believe that they are the same wires as these but black , http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TAY-79202/ , I just got rid of the box about 2 weeks ago !

Re: 77 yellow gmc swb

From what I can tell you can still get them black but they are the Thundervolt 50 series now. Was there plenty of length to them or is it a pretty tight stretch?

verry nice build , looking intoo turbocharging a pickup with a remote system , from the look on the pics they might fit in place of the gastanks under the cab along with the filters and water to air intercoolers , wish would mean they could be mounted straight to the normal headers with andapter with T4 flange and a smal bend the tanks can go behind the rearaxle

Re: 77 yellow gmc swb

Oh yea I forgot about the thundervolt 50's , Yep they fit good there was a couple that I even shortened up,
Got the holes cut in the fan shroud and its all welded up , now hopfully I can get the holes drilled and it mounted up tonight , I got the heater plugged in so it will be ready to fire up ! gotta see if they work !

Re: 77 yellow gmc swb

Yea I think the filters and tanks would fit in there theres a bunch of room in there ! the tanks are about 34" long 11"wide 10"tall

Got my fans on ,so I fired it up but the fans never came on till after I shut it off , I need a lower degree thermal switch or maybe mount it in a different location in the head/intake ? cant remember where the switch even came from but I thought it was a 180. also found out when they did come on the shoud neads some trimming around the fan holes , try again tomorrow !

Re: 77 yellow gmc swb

thanks, I'm tryin, the fan rubbing was because of a broken blade, the seller has a new 1 in the way ! been too cold out to test the temp switch but almost positive its a 220.I ran it up till the temp gauge said 205-210 , then after being off for about 5 min. the temp gauge said 215-220 when the fans kicked on ,looks like a trip to Summit !

Just wanted to subscribe. Awesome build. I really like some of the choices you made. Seems like in every pic the color looks different. I know it's colonial yellow, but is it like a bright yellow, or pale, or like a mustard color in the outside pics?

Re: 77 yellow gmc swb

i think that has more to do with how digital camara's pick up colours
like under fluoresent lighting it will be more green

Thanks guys ,glad ya think I'm heading in the right direction, the color is a creamy mustard yellow ?? The painter said it had lots of white in it , Its so shiny its really hard to tell ! I think it looks different from the factory because theres 4 coats of paint with clear on top, I saved the old glove box door , it was hard to get anything to come out in a pics but it does look like the old door is a shade brighter,
