Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
cut the seat brackets or leave them alone. what do you guys think?

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
does it sit flush with the rear window? If so, I'd leave it.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
its just a tad higher than the rubber seal on the back window. it feels like it sits at a good height so I guess I'll leave it alone.
I got a replacement clutch hole plug (plastic type)from Billsbowtie today. Mine had a hole that someone punched in it. I also got some rear bumper brackets from a board member, but I can't remember who. |
Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Getting legal today. I got the registration from my dmv and the new title in my name should be here in a couple weeks. Here we have to register and plate it to transfer the title in a new owners name. Its a racket but I've had to plate all my projects before they were even running.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Thanks Mitch. I got my title in the mail today so now I'm ready to do some work on it when it warms up.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
I've got some more parts and some more on the way. NOS backup lenses and big block fan shroud. Some used valve covers and a set of chrome GMC hubcaps. I thought I had the suspension parts but that deal fell through. I still want to try to finish up my stock rim project.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Hey Chuck!! I did the same thing with my 4wd truck. I bought it from a Body shop in AZ with a near perfect bed and perfect cab and front cap. Mines a 72 GMC though. The only thing I didnt get was a GMC tailgate. I went and brought it back though. It was in Kingman which is about 20 min from the cali state line. The only bad part was the frame was crooked so I had to get another frame. Body work wise and time wise it was well worth what I paid not to have to deal with it. Im subscribing so I can see how it goes. Good luck and le me know if I can help.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Thanks. I don't know what they came off of but I like the wire holders on them. I'll sand and paint them up later..

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
I worked on turn signals and headlights today. I got some turn signal housings from Southern c10 and took them apart, sanded and painted them. i also got in the mail today some new lenses for them so I went ahead and put them together.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
I also got the headlights from the same board member that I got the new lenses from. They are t-3's but I've never seen any like these. They don't have the triangle. Just t3 and guide on them. Any how they look good and clear. I found some other headlights that I had in a drawer. So I have some back ups. I sanded and painted my buckets and cleaned the rings up.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Good progress. That pool table makes an excellent parts holder...
|
Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Oh yeah, My pool table is a good workbench lol. my wife cleans it off when my in-laws come over. Her Dad like to shoot pool. Then I can't find anything.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Little progress, I put the t-3s in the buckets. I used some stainless steel screws so they won't rust. The original ones were a little hard to get out. The screws have a little bigger head than the original but I don't think it will matter.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
I bought a steering wheel off of ebay and got a horn button from Livrat here on the board. TY. I also bought a steering wheel cover for the wheel and just stretched it over the wheel for now. I still need to paint the wheel.
I also got some parts to help me mock up the front. A radiator suppport that has some rust issues and a grill that is an average driver. I'll most likely buy a new one later. Also got some exhaust for it. Their flowmasters that I'll use. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...SANY0031-4.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...SANY0032-4.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...SANY0039-6.jpg |
Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
nice wheel....not a fan of the cover though ;) Are you specifically looking for that style/yr of GMC grille?
|
Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
I don't know if I'll use the wheel grip or not I just like to have some different options.
I haven't started looking for a grill yet. This one just came available from Brian (Southern C10) an I thought I would use it for mock up. I like the look of the new ones so thats probably what I'll get. And yes a 68 grill is what I'll be after. I also picked up a big block ps reservoir and painted it. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...SANY0038-6.jpg |
Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
