prep is the key, the more time you spend now, and the more you make it perfect or as close as you can, the BETTER it will be for sure, trust me.

If you try and rush or get tired of trying to make something perfectly smooth or flat, and think ahhh it'll be alright, DON'T walk away and come back later well rested it'll be worth it.

yeah im finding myself doing just that. especially on the hood and bed rails. i think "good theyre done" but actually i still have a few hours left of skimming and blocking to make em perfect. fortunately i work with a guy who has been doing custom body work for over 20 years and he is eyeballing it for me and giving me some pointers. and thankfully im starting to get some people looking on here too so im looking forward to comments and suggestions to help me along the way coupled with help and advice from my bro dragonwrecker.

not much progress so far this week. all i have done is remove the bulky breather system and install an old skool breather. had to fuse two breather spacers together to get the right height. i know its ugly but this one is temporary. i have to come up with the money to get the one that will be on it permanently. gonna look cool as hell! i wont tell so stay tuned lol

got the trim off of the new doors, adhesive area sanded and primer on the bottom of the doors. next imma fix the cluster f**k wiring in the back where some dummy butchered it to put in trailer lights. think ill wait till it cools off a lil bit first though. this old man cant handle being in the direct heat and sunlight working for extended periods of time anymore. :thud:

I NEED to get some things done on this truck this weekend but I dont see it happening. Its WAAAYYYY to hot (108 here today) for driveway work right now. Hopefully this heat wave wont last too long. Guess Ill be taking the family swimming instead of sweating and bleeding all over the gravel LOL

Finally out working on Blue today. Got too hot so I figured I would come inside to cool off and post a couple pics. I am "attempting" to get the bed off of it. Since the PO so diligently decided to weld the damn thing on, I am playing hell getting it loose. Two of their welds are being blocked by the springs so I might have to remove them to even get to the welds to cut them out. As soon as I get that done she is ready to come off. Thanks to their bright idea I may have some repair to do on the bed channels to get it to sit right when I put it back on.
