Your build is looking good. I just started to take my Blazer apart.

Turned out good. Need to get the front section done but need to finish my rust repair first.
Just want to get the frame ready to SC ept the cab. The blazer is still 100% functional

Nevermind, i guess you cant edit your own posts. lol. Weird.

Basically i upgraded the front to a dana 44 with a detroit true trac locker.. The rear is a 14 bolt 10.5 ring gear with ARB locker.

That's a monster. How much power do you expect it to put out?

Well, good question. I built the motor to support upwards of 1200hp.
Turbos would peak at 1200 also. My trans MIGHT support 600. lol. And my drivelines.
I just wanted something with a solid 700 wheel horsepower with TONS of room to grow. ITs more of a show rig then a crawler. It does have lockers and what not, but it will never see mud or rocks, just sand and shows.

That looks "FUN" Scary fun!! Blazers have such a short wheelbase they get squirrely pretty quick. Looking forward to seeing this finished!

Rack and pinion steering?

Heeey, a response.

Its all custom up front. Control arms, air bags. Rack and pinion is a mustang rack from flaming river.

Ill get pics. Thanks for looking.

Its summer, i'm sure lots of folks are busy doing summery things. I always found the forum the most active in the colder months... :)

did you buy the super charged engine or did you build it? it looks awesome.

Going with the flaming river electric power assist on the steering?

Super cool!

Would you mind sharing what you're thinking for the rest of the build?
Stock interior? Ac? Hardtop or soft top? Rims and tires?
Changing color?

Wheels are a custom build i had done through american racing. I have my own custom part number now. Here is a pic. This is a drawing of what it will look like when done. Basic interior, custom seats. Stuff like that.

Re: Project Sandstorm. 1971 Blazer 4wd, Boosted carb'd 454 sand beast

I like it. I know that everyone on the internet has an opinion, and i have one... :)

I would consider a different rear view mirror. I think that mirror draws the eyes to it in a way that detracts. I would play around with a replicating the wheel well radiuses.

I also think front hinged hood would look sick on that truck. especially with the type of engine you got on it. A bit more work, but from the rendering of the hood i think you have the clearances for it.

I'm digging more and more the monochromatic look, there is something pretty cool about it.

Going rear exhaust or behind rear wheel exhaust? 3" pipes?
