I think that is the price after the member discount, but you should probably PM him for verification.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but it looks like I'm going to have to run a camaro pan on the Suburban. With the bags and dropped arms it's just going to be to low. I think the crewcab will probably be fine since the susupension is only lowered a couple of inches. Anyway, does anyone have one that one to sell or does anyone know the part # so I can start looking? OBTW, check out the new headers for the LS1 from Doug Thorley, :D. No clearance issues here, :metal:.

Hey Rob, did you figure out what motor mount you plan to use with the Camaro oil pan? Would you mind measuring the gap from your crossmember straight back to the part of the oil pan hanging behind the crossmember?

I'm using ECE motor mounts. I think there's about 3-4 inches from the crossmember to the truck pan. I think there will be plenty of room for the camaro pan. I'm recovering for surgery, so give me a couple of days to get some measurements.

No hurry, hope everything went well with your surgery.

Searching through various threads on here and ls1tech.com, the concensus seems to be that the ECE motor mounts won't work with the camaro oil pan.

I knew you were using the ECE mounts and you were thinking about switching to the camaro oil pan, but I wasn't sure if you had researched it further. Judging by the image on post #21 of this thread, if there isn't more than 3 inches of gap between the truck oil pan and the crossmember, then the ECE motor mounts won't work with the camaro pan.

I got all the parts today and I'm going to do the Camaro pan swap, hopefully this will work...........

Re: LS1 swap. What oil pan did you use?

Well I verified that the Camaro oil pan definitely will not work with the ECE mounts. It's about 1/2" to long back to front. I could easily modify the crossmember, but I think the Cadillac CTSV pan will work if my measurements are correct....back to the drawing board....

Truck pan is 8 1/4" deep, H3 Pan is 7 1/2" deep.

I'm planning on using the Cadillac pan when I do my swap for that very reason. The truck pan hangs too low, IMO. I have an 04 GTO that I'm pulling the LS1 out of, but it's a front sump setup that definitely will not work

What mounts are you going to use?

thanks rob.....i do beleive the cadi pan will work for ya....also i think if you went with the POL mounts the camaro pan would work too....but again im not 100% positive on that...

Re: LS1 swap. What oil pan did you use?

I was planning to use ECE's or S&P's. S&P sells the mounts that move the engine back an extra inch if needed

Re: LS1 swap. What oil pan did you use?

Let me know if you find a decent price on the Cadillac parts. I was going to swap a guy my GTO pan for his Cadillac pan, but I think I want to hang on to the GTO pan for the time being. I have a list of part numbers for all the parts (pan, pickup tube, dipstick tube, etc) if you need it

I'm in to deep with the ECE stuff to back up now, :D. Hopefully the Caddy pan will work...........

I got the numbers off of LS1 tech. I think you can use the truck windage tray. I will have to use the Lokar dipstick with the Doug Thorley headers. I'll let you know.

OK, we have a winner, :). The Cadillac CTSv pan looks like it was made to go with the ECE motor mounts. It sits about 3/4" above the crossmember and has plenty of room in the front for the drag link to clear. All you need is the pan and the oil pickup tube. The windage tray from the truck works. If you got any question let me go. Another cool thing I like about it is the fact that the oil drain plug is in the rear and not on the side. Here's a few pictures.......

I got it at the dealership. It's normally around $340, I got it for about 270. If you're not running the ECE mounts, the Fbody pan will work and gives you a little more clearance. If you're interested in the extra Fbody pan, windage tray and oil pick up tube, I'll ship it to you for $260. I've seen used ones on Ebay going for over $200. LMK.

Thanks, but I'll pass. You are asking $2 less than buying the stuff new from gmpartsdirect.com including shipping

This stuff is new! I bought it Monday. I guess I got taken but, I paid $290 for everything at the dealership and that's with a business discount, (I'll be glad to show you the receipt, ;)). Oh well, maybe I'll throw it on ebay or make me an offer.

Re: LS1 swap. What oil pan did you use?

Mahanian,

Honestly, the rolled eyes weren't necessary. Like I said I paid $290 for everything and I'm sure it's going to cost at least $40 to ship. So even if I sold it for $260, I'm still out $70, about 4 hrs work, and a couple trips to the parts store. Plus, I saved you a lot of time trying to figure this out yourself. Sorry for the rant, but I don't appreciate you implying I'm trying to rip some one off. Have a good night.

Rob

Re: LS1 swap. What oil pan did you use?

Sorry Rob, I didn't mean that as a personal attack. I used the "roll eyes" emoticon guy as a "hmmm" or "deep in thought" cause that's what it always looked like to me. I've never used that little guy before and that is what I always thought it was.
