I would have a hard time staying out of it also, Looking Good. I really like the way you went about putting it Together, you have a lot to be Proud of in Your Build........................ Thanks, Rick |
Re: 67 C-30 Dually pickup build.
For the sidemarkers on the rear, I'd think it'd be pretty unique if you did the Firebird marker lights. I say keep the rear red one on the stepside fender, add an amber one one on the front of it, and lose the red one on the fleetside fender. All painted to match the body color of course. Just an idea.

I got out there today and painted the rims and popped the center caps and trim rings back on it. I'm still not sure what wheel/tire I'm going to end up with, but these look pretty good. If I paint the truck black, I'll probably leave them on here.

Re: 67 C-30 Dually pickup build.
ahh beauty rings. they're just so...beautiful? haha. i like it alot. the trim contrasts with the black amaingzly, and really make's em stand out.
IF and/or when you disassemble for paint, what color are you planning on? -Sam. |
Re: 67 C-30 Dually pickup build.
Since I started the project a few years ago, I have always planned on solid black with chrome bumpers, CST chrome grill trim and headlight bezels, chrome mirrors, and these trim rings and caps.
I have since been considering doing something that looks bare bone stock, kinda like the truck could have came from the factory this way. I have been tossing around black or maybe even green with white bumpers, grill trim, mirrors and rims. I'm just undecided. I had these caps and centers on the truck when I had the bed off, and now that I have them back on there, I'm leaning back with the mean black and chrome look. My race car is also black, and I originally wanted this to it, but I haven't been racing the car for the last 2 seasons. I'm not even sure I will start back anytime soon, if ever. Decisions, Decisions!!! |
Re: 67 C-30 Dually pickup build.
Maybe you could ask the Photo shop Guy's to do it a couple different way's, Might help you get a Better feel for it that way????
I actually struggled on the Finish for My Stepper that 70 rs/ss is doing for me, I love Shiny"Red Trucks" & When Mike Suggested the Hot Rod Flatz it Took some warming up Too. I'm Really Excited to see how it's going to Come out now, One Thing for Sure I think I'm gonna be the Only Stepper on Board that is Painted in the Red Flatz............. Good Luck with you Decision, Rick |
Re: 67 C-30 Dually pickup build.
Nice build, i'm subscribed to find out more! A quick idea on sidemarkers could be one's on old Chargers, if I remember it's a chrome circle that is a marker light, could work with those fenders.
Keep up the good work. |
Re: 67 C-30 Dually pickup build.
This is my idea on the side markers. I'm going to shave both facory side markers and add the ones from the '97 C3500. This is pretty close to what the ' 88 - '98 clearance markers will look like on there. I already have them and the wiring, and it will be easy enough to cut holes for them. They mount flush, which I like also.
I don't have anything much else to report to except I bought a set of tires for it yesterday that are a lot taller and wider. They should fill out the wheelwells (especially on the rear) a lot better. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1194284398 |
Re: 67 C-30 Dually pickup build.
I've always liked dually's. This is one sick-nasty build. (Thats a good thing. Hahaha)

Re: 67 C-30 Dually pickup build.
Nothing much to report. Still trying to decide what color and theme I want to go with when I paint it. I had the guys on the photoshop board help me out with a few different combos. Here's some of my favorites.
Black with trim rings and caps I have on it now with chrome bumpers and grill. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1194484618 Black with factory 17.5" white rims bumpers and grill. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1194484618 Dark olive with factory 17.5" white rims bumpers and grill. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1194696273 Satin black lowered with chrome trim. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1194484618 The lowered version looks pretty cool, but I'm prety sure I'm not going that route. Bags aren't in my budget, and I plan on doing a lot towing/hauling with this truck. |
Re: 67 C-30 Dually pickup build.
i like green.
but, we all know i'm kinda partial to that. ;) -Sam. |
Re: 67 C-30 Dually pickup build.
hay thats a good start i have the same truck 68chevy 1 ton with a 327 short rear end its a longhorn i guess it came with out a bed

Re: 67 C-30 Dually pickup build.
Im not a Photo Chopper but I think that the green with white top would e pretty nice with either chrome bumpers and white rims or vice versa.

Yes, it is. A 6.2/6.5 is a direct bolt in. They are physically a little smaller than a BBC. The directly bolt to the all the L6/SBC/BBC trannys and use SBC motor mounts. Here's a pic of a 6.2 in a 72 Cheyenne with working factory A/C.

Re: 67 C-30 Dually pickup build.
Mine has factory air also, but is a 4x4 so the engine sits further back, is there plenty of room around the ac box? I also have a Banks turbo setup that needs to exhaust in the same area, is there much room between the frame and the exhaust manifold?
