Sounds good. Its going to be a 5,000 mile round trip voyage for us. Let the planning begin.

i'm planning on running it in daily driver within the next few years if I can get in. I have a project in mind that I would like to build to run in it but it would be at least a 4 or 5 year build on my budget.

I'm gonna take my '70 C10 if I can get registered.

Turbo 5.3. I just got it on the road about 10 days ago, and so far so good. On just 7lbs of boost this thing rips! I'm actually daily driving the truck now, working out the usual bugs and dialing in the tune for driveability. I'll crank the boost up later on...for now it's just fun and basically worry free.

They aren't offering too much traction, but admittedly they work well in 3rd gear on the meager 7lbs of boost. DR's is the plan.

I've literally been driving the wheels of this thing since getting it going, it's just too much fun. I've kept the interior stock, bench seat, column shift and all. Not even an aftermarket guage...I'm gonna buy the Holley EFI digital dash soon and use it for everything. FWIW, having messed with HpTuners and the stock GM stuff for a while, switching to the Holley has just been a pleasure. So much more simple and user friendly. I'm hooked.

I'll make a thread detailing the truck with some GoPro video later this week. It's been a fun project and I'm looking forward to both the Power Tour and (hopefully) Drag Week.

Thats awesome!!! For street purposes traction is over rated. Burnouts and donuts make everyday better!

I've got a sh!tty garage and phone full of numbers, we can make something work. All I need to know is if I need a full tank of shielding gas in the welder, and if our ECM guy needs to be here (he probably will be anyway).

I dont know if you guys watch Roadkill on youtube. But my buddy matt and I are big fans of the first 15 or so episodes. Its gone corpo and lost its mojo now.

We benched race an Idea last night that would be a blast. Buy plane tickets and while in the air find a car on CL either in your area or St Louis. one carry on for cloths, one checked bag for tools. Make sure a nitrous set up is waiting for us at a local speed shop and see how far we make it!

Hmmmmmm. I can probably facilitate some of that. I'm not sure if you can register without knowing what vehicle you're gonna have tho...can you?

There is no refunds on registration. So once you are in you can change classes or cars. But the names on the entry have to be the names that show up.

Not being on the list never stopped me before. I'm really good at reading upside down, and I own a laminate printer :)

Hey Kyle, turns out there might be an LT1 Roadmaster wagon and a few sharknozzles at one of our friends shops; if you guys end up wanting to do this lets talk.

Pretty much the same happened to us. We had someone giving us some assurances, who then ducked out of as soon as being put to task.

Hoping one of our previous sponsors can help us out, but knowing the level of connections the "bigger" guys have, HotRod isn't gonna bump any of the 6second cars. :(

Soooo my whole summer is gonna be free now....

Congrats Heavymet, Thats awesome. I cant wait for stories and videos.

I had a customer in the shop and could not get away. By the time I got to my computer and by the time I found the link it was 9:16. If I would have been on the ball at 9am I bet I would have made it in.

I had a team working on registration. 3 laptops, social media, etc. We knew it would be a blitz so thankfully I had help.

Also, made an unexpected pass today with my turbo truck. I just went to National Trail to spectate, ended up borrowing a helmet and going for it on 9lbs of boost and no-traction street tires. I finally was able to get it into some boost in 2nd gear, then WOT in 3rd. Ran a 12.46@114. I was hoping to cruise to 11.50's (no roll bar) on Drag Week, looks like once I get a pass with my Drag Radials it'll be close on just 9psi. These turbo LS engines are the real deal...drives like stock and dead quiet with the cutout closed, pulls with the torque of a big block on the boost!

Well hope it works out for you. I'll probably be out with a few of my locals to watch the Great Lakes/Union Grove stop here in WI. Let us know if you need any support *as allowed* if needed. We've got a bunch of vendors/shops within about 40 minutes of the track should anything constitute an offsite repair.

Well Drag Week is almost upon us, and my truck is ready to go. I've been making hits all summer, and 10psi on 20 degrees of timing puts it right at 11.5X@116.5. I'm sure hoping to make one hit and done at each stop and be fairly consistent running an 11.5X at each track. The drive portion will be a lot of fun too, the truck cruises like a stocker and is actually fairly comfortable. I drove it on the Power Tour (2500 miles in 5 days for me) and didn't suffer too many bench seat back pain ailments.

Brew City, if you see me at the track swing by and say hello.
