I wanted a work table that I could move around. I was converting my little Lincoln from innershield to gas, so it seemed like a good project to practice on.

I wanted this available when I started working on my '72 K5. There are a "few" rusty panels that need work.

My looks nearly identical to joanne's. Unfortunately mine is always covered in crap. what ever you do, don't attach any clamps or anything to the top. I installed a couple clamps so I can attach jigs to it, problem is I never put them away.

Heres mine. Just finished her up and painted. I kinda messed up on the paint (it was dark). but I think it turned out real well. Not as big and fancy as some of yours but I needed it to be small and able to move around corners real well.

Leevon, rich 1028, and Joanne are the designs I like the most. I have an extra tool box and never thought of combining the both. I have not built one yet. It has to be small enough to roll around the shop.

Ahhh, I see.

I love the idea of having a tool box connected to it too. But I need it small enough to fit in tight spaces. If I didnt need it to be so small Id consider combining their ideas. Build a stand for the box with a shelf half way up the box for the welder... 3/8 steel top... and a mount for the gas on the opposite side. Best of both worlds.

As soon as you get it made you got to post it up!

Oh yea ill post it up. My welder has gotten some use the last few days. I've been shaving my firewall on the Burb. Welding is something I really enjoy doing, I've even thought about taking some classes just to hone the skill. I see guys throwing down some really clean welds and stacking dimes. Also would love to learn to TIG. All in do time.

Hey guys,

I hate to link to off-forum sites, but this is an exception. This guy has created a tank clamp that is super simple and secure. I'll probably take a few minutes to make one up for my cart.

Here is one we built from a small shopping cart. I like that it rolls well and does not take up too much space. The hose caddy is a custom upgrade;)

That old panel welder in the background belongs to a friend and is a kick to use.

The only worry Id have on using a shopping cart is the fear that I would see my welder going down the street pushed by some bag lady. Would YOU want to try and get it back?

I feel for ya.

I had a situation happen with my 71 Owners Manual that came with the truck.

It was on the coffee table as I was reading it all the time. It was on the table for about 3 days & I went to read it and saw an 800 number written on the front.

I asked the wife if she did it (I knew she did cause our cats can't spell) and she said "well, that is my handwriting" and then she stated "Gee, what was that number for anyway? I don't remember."

My unspoken thought was "it must have been pretty dang important if you had to write it on the cover of a mint 42 year old owners manual and you can't even remember what the darn number was for"

The sad thing, there was a big pad of paper right under the table. Apparently it was further out of reach and not as convenient as the owners manual.

I concur, oh well.

I have now put my mint factory service and overhaul manuals out of her reach.

I sometimes just shake my head and ask myself "what the heck was she thinking?"

I'll give everyone 10 to 1 odds she wouldn't have done that to her Fendi purse or Gucci shoes.
