Last time I saw the Suburban it looked like this... If I remember right he said that hood was just sitting on there, it wasn't going on.
I have the owners email, maybe I'll ask for some updated pics (if he still has it). |

Realized I had 2 more pics with Blazer tops, but since they are pretty much near worthless to see... Anyway, a few do exist.

Re: Check this Suburban out
I have been thinking about something like these for my wife. Our 25th is coming up and was thinking about a 91 4x4 'Burb with the back cut off and the cab back welded on from a pickup with no length added, same gap from the pickup cab behind the rear doors. Add a regular truck tailgate and inner bed and instant stubby bed crewcab. Maybe if I could find one of the 76-92 Blazer bolt on PU Fiberglass Truck conversions (I used to have two of them kicking around in 90-91) and make a Avalanche. I would not add length as She does not like long Trucks.

Re: Check this Suburban out
does anyone got any more pics or info on these i just bought a 90 suburban and im very interested in doing this?

Re: Check this Suburban out
i want to do this to my 91 but it has barn doors on the back but i was going to do it different. I was going to cut the back of the sub off at the back half of the rear side doors.
Then i was going to take the rear half of a blazer an just put it onto the rear of the sub tie in the rear door way with the blazer doors. An just move the rear springs back for the blazer quarter. but i want to keep the barn doors an thought about leaveing bottom of rear door an makeing a lift hatch for the top like the first gen blazers had so it would kind of be like a astro vans rear doors |
Re: Check this Suburban out
you read my mind just about to a tee but i want the rear gate like the blazer i even cut the roof of a crew cab so i can reskin the suburban roof with no hump plus i think haveing the rear wheels centered will look a ton better! i might even graft in back half of the blazer frame.

Re: Check this Suburban out
would rather keep frame solid but not bad idea less work with just sheetmetal instead of heavier welding on frame just relocate spring hangers but then again that might not be such a bad idea. cause it would make useing the blazer fuel tank easier plus you wouldnt have to move the springs just have to graft the frames together real good an brace it extra strong
