Had a pretty productive day. pulled the coresupport, and radiator to get ready for the crossmember swap. Pulled the cab as well, since the PO has the ebrake cables wired to the frame and trans crossmember. I will have to figure out how the ebrake get mounted to the frame properly. Tomorrow i will power wash the frame and engine/trans, hopefully i can get the engine/trans pulled as well.

we made some progress over the last couple of days. we have the frame stripped down. we have sprayed it with oven cleaner, power washed it, and are in the final process of finishing it up with the wire wheel. The 15 yo is really getting into the teardown and rebuild, so i will try to keep it going at a good pace. My youngest son is also lending a hand.

There is no turning back now!

Love the bike! I think it's great that your sons are helping you. Frame is looking good too! Hopefully as your oldest (I have no idea how many you have...) will want an older truck instead of a newer "dur-dur" Honda when he gets old enough to drive!

well, we have the rear suspension in and all bolted up now. I need to run the brake line and make a mount for the brake junction to mount on the rear crossmember. we have the front crossmember mounted as well. We need to clean up the rotors and springs, then paint the rotors, spindles, and springs so we can continue the front install.

Lookin' awesome!! You are a tad bit futher on your frame than I am. It's alot of fun when you can work on something without getting dirty.. When you get done for the day you can look at it and see that you have got something done. Keep it up.

Excellent project, i am sure he will stay interested, just don't bust his arse too much, otherwise, but honestly i am sure he will want to be the first one to drive it.
