|
Re: nelsons relaxed dropmember build
not a lot to update right now. just waiting on some parts and time.

Re: nelsons relaxed dropmember build
As for tires, I talked to Nelson yesterday the setup is meant to be the same height as his future 20"/22" setup, the backs are 235-75-15 and the fronts are a couple sizes smaller.

Re: nelsons relaxed dropmember build
Are these drop members for sale? Were do you get them? My next project is going to be a 72 burb slammmmmmmed. Metallic lime green with white leather interior. Painted steel wheels and white wall tires. I AM GETTING INTO IT NECK DEEP ( LIKE ALL OF MY PROJECTS).

Nelson has been working a little bit and got a new rear cross member made up that the carrier bearing will mount to once the drive shaft is split to keep from tunneling the floor for the drive shaft. He stabbed the motor and 700R4 in it and the hum in the floor will need some slight messaging to clear the 700R4, but nothing to major (won’t be noticeable once the carpet is put in). He has been fitting all the doors and fenders to the cab and has a set of my 20'w he is starting with to start mocking up inner fenders and hood hinges.
Here are a few pics to enjoy: |

Re: nelsons relaxed dropmember build
Would a bolt-in factory "high hump" piece be easier than modifying the small hump?
|
Re: nelsons relaxed dropmember build
yea i was thingking of looking into a high hump just need to look at the truck from underneath to see how much room is needed fro tranny lines and stuff like that.

Re: nelsons relaxed dropmember build
I've never heard of the need to cut the floor to install a 700r4. Are you doing anything different?
|
Re: nelsons relaxed dropmember build
the dropmember moves everything up and forward and with the 1 to 1-1/2" up the bell housing gets real close to the tunnel pinch molding on the underside.

Re: nelsons relaxed dropmember build
I was wondering if you guys got any pic's of air line's? Like how you came off the front bags between the control arms or upper arm anyway. Would also like to see tank mount and compressor and size of line.
I have the same project going and need some more input. Thanks a lot guys and I hope my truck turns out that nice. Later |
Re: nelsons relaxed dropmember build
all the lines are in mock up form right now with shradder valves so it can be aired up with the shop compressor. Once we get those items you mentioned done the pics will definately be posted. You can look at my build thread for compressor and tanks mounts he have just done on it (link is in my signature)

Re: nelsons relaxed dropmember build
Can I be a worry-wart and ask the wheel size and tire sizes both front and rear?
I know it was asked earlier, but I didn't see the wheel sizes. |
