Well, I haven't actually accomplished any work, but I did accumulate some parts. That's gotta count for something right?

All right! Now you have something to keep you busy for a while.

I did work on it a bit yesterday, but the front cab support really kicked my butt, so I had to walk away. Maybe today will be different.

Okay, so today wasn't much different. I think I'm making a career out of this cab support :D Judging by the test-fitting, I've got some work to do.

Looks good to me keep up the good work;)

I am getting ready to do the same thingo nmt 69 and liked your Cab dolly
are you happy with it or would change anything if you had to build another one? I have seen both wood and steel just want something stable.
Also were did you buy all of your body pieces from? Thanks Kevin:metal:

Thanks! I like it, but I would change a few things. First off, I made it too wide, so the cab doesn't sit level on the dolly. I'm thinking that I would have built it a little shorter too, it's good for the floor work but it's going to be rough to work on the roof :). I've been very pleased with it's stability though, its real stout.

As far as the parts are concerned, I got them from Mike's Bump and Grind Garage http://www.bumpandgrindgarage.com/ (he's a site vendor here...VERY helpful and they are great to work with!!)

Well, I didn't get much real work done this weekend. I'm trying to figure out how to get the old rear cab support out of there. So, in the mean time I'm test fitting the floor peice, and I think it's going to work.

Yeah, I've got some patching to do here :)

I knew I had it backwards! Nothing like creating more work for myself huh?

Yeah, I'm going to try and round myself up a plasma cutter because I just don't want to deal with it any more :D

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"

Cool tools. That will definitely help. Just went through some of those very same patches on my Jezebel project. There are lots of pics in the project link as well as others saved elsewhere if you need to see something that would help you with your project. Not sure I could be used as an example or for advice but if I can assist in any way let me know. I cant travel to Utah and do the work for you though....

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"

Thanks! I could definitely use all the help I can get :). I've got the compressor and plasma cutter running now, so hopefully this weekend I can start hacking...I mean precision cutting these pieces out

Glad to see you've made some progress on the cab floor.:chevy:

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"

I haven't really made as good of progress as I would like though. It will be nice to start putting pieces back on instead of cutting them off. ;)

Okay, so I got to play yesterday and today! :metal:

I must preface these pictures with the fact that I'm definitely a novice, but I have a better understanding of what I'm doing for the driver's side.

My first tack of a new piece!! Yeah for me! Notice the gaps I'm going to need to patch in :(

Now for my problem area. When I measured to cut this, I didn't take into account that the rear was sagging which caused my measurements to be off. Refer to my last post about learning what not to do

First scary cut with my new plasma!

With these next pictures, you should be able to see my issue. I hope I'll be able to fix it, but it's going to require some patching and bracing....boo.
