Re: my 90 ext cab 4x4 fixer upper
thanks. no problem steal my idea for the bumer. beats paying $800 + for the same bumper you can make. i can't wait to see it painted either.

Re: my 90 ext cab 4x4 fixer upper
yeah no joke there. even my small budget has a small budget. i have wanted a big bumper but never thought about cutting down a texas bumper. have thought about fabing my own brush guard and have the idea of how i want it to work. when i get around to it ill post u a pic. hope it turns out as good as yours

well mine isn't finished. i plan on making a full face brush guard with a hood protector too. kinda like the hummer guard. i hope yours turns out better than mine. kinda like these.

Re: my 90 ext cab 4x4 fixer upper
that would be SWEET! i have never seen those before. i assume they hinge for engine access. i have to get a notcher and bender before i even attempts brush guards. maybe soon.

well i have been having problems with my rear brakes getting air in them. i have checked for leaks and can't find any. the pedal is spongy and to stop i have had to double pump them. brakes are adjusted. an so everyone knows i just put rear shoes on it 2 month ago. so i bought a reman master and deleted the rear wheel abs junk. WOW what a difference. stops great has a good stiff pedal with no fade at all. i'm pretty sure it was the rear wheel abs modual leaking air in the system, but either way it's fixed. here are a few pics of the end result. 3 bucks for abs delete. beats 200 bucks for a new abs modual.:metal:

Re: my 90 ext cab 4x4 fixer upper
I did the same on mine but didn't have to use a piece of line and a couple adapters, I only used one adapter and moved the line over.
I can't get mine to bleed now tho after deleteing it, has air in it and travels like yours did. going to switch MC's soon. |
Re: my 90 ext cab 4x4 fixer upper
i cracked the line at the prop valve to bleed the air there then went to the back lines and that fixed it.

well put the stock chevy grill back in the truck. stock bumper, but I did get a full face grill guard. oh and installed towing mirrors.
|
Re: my 90 ext cab 4x4 fixer upper
Why back to the stock grille and bumper?
|
Re: my 90 ext cab 4x4 fixer upper
stock bumper cause I wanted to put the grill guard on. stock grill because the gmc grill wouldn't fit with the stock bumper because I didn't have the filler. and didn't want to buy one. all this was free. so free is for me.
|
Re: my 90 ext cab 4x4 fixer upper
Don't blame ya there. I put a '94-'98 grille in my '92, but I already had the filler, and I also have the longer 94+ bumper brackets, so I can make it work. I just haven't got around to raising the brackets to match my body lift.
