Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
bags it is! DO IT! DO IT NOW!!!
|
Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
1 step forward, 2 steps back! Oh Man.... Ya know what, the second I saw your build thread I thought you would eventually want to. I cringed when I saw you were powdercoating your frame... I went in mine with the intention of a static drop too! Then, I was just going to bag it, now i'm z'ing it, ect..... It never ends. Do it now before you get it all together man! Its a lot easier with the bare bones....
|
Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
yep i knew it too... if i do go bags i dont think im gonna lay it out, just stuff it into my existing notches. im thinking it will sit close to level because im not gonna do a dropmember or "Z". so i think my lower arms are the only thing i would need to modify as far as powder is concerned. Right? if i did bolt in bag brackets and cups in my arms up front.
i bagged a tahoe years ago and i just took all the leafs out but two in the rear. What do you think about that, or is there a better option for a bolt in style kit? Ive seen guys like "n2trux" that have a mini four link setup that bolts in where the leaf hanger mounts. Good-Bad? and remember i have Champagne dreams on a beer budget hahaha |
Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
ha. I hear the budget crisis! Invest in some lower A-arms for sure! Especially if you get larger bags up front. Aim industries has cheap a-arms, 600 for the pair. I know people kinda dis em, but they are budget friendly I have the older style AIM industries uppers and there is nothing wrong with them.
Stock uppers work, but the ball joints seemed to almost bind when layed out. But yeah, If I were you, do a bolt in kit in the cross member, then bolt the bottom to aftermarket lower a arms. Check out this article, Its layed out nicely in the front..... http://www.sporttruck.com/techarticl...c10/index.html As for the rear... Hopefully someone can chime in. |
Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
lol I knew it.... you saw your 22's on my bagged truck and couldnt take it! hahaha jk
the big decision bag it or dont..... I know you, and you will not be happy when you are done it its not sitting low enough........ I dont see why the rear would be that big of a deal doing it the way you guys did seans tahoe. But I really have not done it so not sure. |
Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
Im not sure what the hell im gonna do. all i know is it is far from low enough. i dont think i have a choice (good excuse) haha.
Ive been drooling on porters site all day but i just cant justify the price... Porters bolt in notch setup is around 499. and looks *****en, might go that route Any input is greatly appreciated, If anybody has extra bag parts let me know!! |
Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
Also remember, the bigger the notch, the more ya gotta raise the bed floor. (or cut a hole). haha. So it begins!
|
Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
