Shackle flip and switch the front hanger to the 4x4 ones.

Bucannon,

Thanks for all of your info on this project. I have been searching for a cost effective way to lift my 3/4 ton Suburban. This thread is the number one reason I registered with this forum today! Until I saw this, I thought I was going to have to start another "help me lift my 2wd" thread, which I have read most of, on this site and others.

Thanks Again,

-Wakeup-

Looks good! I am thinking of doing the same thing to my 70 GMC.

Reading through the posts, you mention that you could have kept the 1/2 ton LCA to mount the lift spindle too? Is that correct?

That was actually untrue. i thought this at first but after checking discovered that the 1/2 ton lower control arm ball joint actually has a smaller diameter than the 3/4 ton.

so 3/4 ton lower control arms are necessary.

Good to know. Anything else you would do different?

after having the 10 bolt rear from an 88-98 truck be a complete piece of crap with a broken posi and chewed up gears i would recommend not buying parts from mud bogging trucks. also i recommend trying to find a 12bolt rear that is 6 lug from a junkyard truck and rebuild it. i may eventually do this.

other than that i am very satisfied with all the work i have done.

Just wanted to let yall know the truck is up and running. i stopped in savannah over spring break and bought a 4.10 gear set, due to budget restraints. and had it put together by New Era Automotive which is a badass shop. look them up if you need honest work done!

but my old man drives it on the weekends and now claims he needs a ladder to get in it, but is impressed with my work. once i come home for summer i will post pictures

Are the front of the front fenders trimmed? Wheel spacers installed?

Yes i trimmed the front fenders but need to trim a little more because it will rub on a hard left turn.

The wheel spacers are installed as well.

after putting a few hundred miles on it i have noticed my mileage has increased from 10 to 12 MPG due to transmission and rear gear changes. the new tires are quiet on the highway.
but now that the suspension does not rattle the doors and everything else do... so i still have lots of work to do!

My left tail light got messed up when i backed into a fence after being on the boat, which i included a picture of because i towed it around some while i was home. The carbs on my boat need to be rebuilt so until i do that its out of commission...

if anybody wants to give me a 40hp fuel injected outboard ill be glad to take it!

I included a picture of my back window with all the stickers also

here is an interior shot, nothing fancy, except for my blue LED dash lights(which i forgot to get a picture of) and my aftermarket radio with 2 6x9 speakers a 500 watt amp and 12" sub.

i also put in a review mirror from a late 90's mustang and wired it up so i now have two reading lights although when the headlights are on they wont turn on so i need to connect to a different terminal on the fuse block.

im sanding down and painting the door panels semigloss black. the driver side is done still working on the passenger side because i wanted to spend more time on prep work to make it look better for my passengers.
