Hello all, got some progress done here recently. Been of work for my back for the past 6 weeks, so got a lot of sanding done. Gotta get back to work and order me some body mounts. Anywho, here are a couple of pics.

Got bored so started to sand down the firewall

Frame looks great, & everything else is coming along nicely as well. Any idea why the old frame paint didn't stick? Not sure if it's anything like POR-15, but I know that stuff isn't made to work with a bare metal. Good luck with the continued progress!

Re: Little Blue

Good deal getting the "54" but don't get off track with little blue. You have too much time and work invested to stop now. Use as incentive to get her done so you can then move to the next project.

Little Blue is more than just a project to me, its what I'm building in memory of my cousin. So actually tomorrow I'm gonna start getting underneath the cab painted and hopefully order my new cab mounts

Awesome!! 53 is one of my favorite Chevy trucks, looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

I suggest Jag IFS, just a little hint.

Re: Little Blue

Well a little up-date on the truck. With the extremely cold weather and the fact that my garage dont keep heat that well, Ive taken a break from the truck for now. Since I got some time on my hands and the fact I wrecked my 97 Silverado, Ive been working on it for the time being. I gotta get a new bumper, brackets, core support, passenger fender, and I think the frame is tweaked so it needs to go to the local frame shop for a check. On the other hand I did also order a tailgate handle re-locator kit for it and about got it finished.(bought the kit before the wreck) AND I went a looked at a place of my own the other day, living with the parents is getting a little old. So, I aint been sitting idle just been really busy doing other things here lately. :metal:

It's been cold down here too and mine hasn't been doing much but sitting in the cold shop too. Although it did get driven in an ice storm yesterday. I definitely got to fix my defroster fan.

Re: Little Blue

I guess you southern boys are getting a little taste of Northern weather. We had a heat wave today up to about 35.

Re: Little Blue

Haha we southerners dont like the cold. If we did we would live up north lol

This section is kinda slow. I didn't get any responses the last time I posted in my build thread. Looks like you're making some nice progress. :chevy:

Thanks

QUOTE=GMC91;5992115]Long time no up-date..been doing a lot with her since I bought another truck to drive around in.

First thing I did was junk the TBI and swapped it carbed.
http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/...psdc476918.jpg

Got tired of the engine bay looking like crap and the engine looking awesome, so now Im in the process of smoothing the inside fenders and firewall.Started out by welding patch panels into the big holes and just mig welded the smaller ones up.
http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6a7d0520.jpg

Got the passenger side fender almost ready for paint tonight, shot it with some epoxy primer then some filler primer.

Looks like it's coming along nicely. Wish I had half the motivation you have, then I could get some work done on my project.

Re: Little Blue

Nice work on the fenders! I need to do that to mine when I get around to actually painting it.

Re: Little Blue

Dragracer, its just a summit brand tbi to carb intake. Cost maybe $150...

Everyone else thank you, I recently traded my 97 Silverado with a bent frame for a decent straight body no rust 91 Suburbon. I say decent, its in great shape for what it is and what I traded for it. But I have had to do some work to it so that where my time is going. Cant skip out on your DD

Re: Little Blue

Solid work man, what all was involved with swapping to a carb? Like electronics and all that?

GMC91 04-05-2014 02:38 AM

Re: Little Blue

The one main thing I did was disconnect the stock fuel pump and put an in0line pump instead. Other than that I just removed all the wires for the TBI. Your check engine light will stay on but doesnt mean anything.

Thunderwagen 04-28-2014 11:58 PM

Re: Little Blue

Your truck is coming along nicely man I look forward to updates.
