Ha! Definitely dug this up! I forgot my log in name and password!! So I had to find my own thread to remember it, lol...

But yes lots of updates!!

It went from just frame swapping it and bagging it, to hey lets semi restore this beast. So there's been tons of sheetmetal repair to the cab. Bedsides are next. Almost got the front suspension done. Etc etc....

Progress has been slower but some progress is better than no progress!!

Soon as I get a few minutes I'll post up all the pics I have since the last time I updated!

This is a sweet build you got going! Starting to really dig the 55-59 trucks. Keep up the great work!

I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing some updates on this truck because we plan on doing the same frame swap on our 58 in the spring. Any shots of how the body got mounted to the S10 frame would be a huge plus :metal: it's going to look so cool bagged and scraping the ground

More like getting the body straight with a coat of flat paint in the near future. The patina looks good in pictures but trust me, up close there's way more rust than patina! lol.... but from the original plan, it's taking a lot longer to drive! haha

That's my good homie Nates shop. He's done all the fabricating on my truck. He's got a 68 :gmc2: laying doors

And finally, where we're currently at. After months and months of rust repair, dent pulling, sand blasting, stripping, grinding and sanding we got the cab in epoxy! Inside and out. Made it all worth it though! Looks 10 times better already!!

Re: "Mable" 1959 Apache Build On A S-10 Frame

Alright, so now I caught up the build I believe. Somewhere in the last few months it's turned into a full restoration project instead of the original plan of just frame swapping it, fixing a few things, bag it and drive it. But the end result will be much better!!

how did you get your front tires to fill the space so well? Did you swap your A arms or just run a wheel spacer?

We actually added an inch and a half to the stock control arms. Turned out pretty solid. Then I got 8 inch wide wheels plus the 235/75's helped it out too!

We cut the frame horns off of the stock 59 frame and just welded it to the front of the s-10 frame. With some cutting and trimming on the s-10 frame horns of course. But everything bolts up and lines up perfect!
