Re: Adams 67 K10 Build
Been meaning to update this thread for awhile now, Truck is back in storage til spring but I've got it apart to work on a few things.
There mustve been something on the hood when it was primed because the paint started to bubble. The shop resprayed the hood for me and I figured while it was off I should detail the engine bay so I'm just waiting for the weather to warm up a bit before I can proceed further with that. http://i.imgur.com/GfpdNINl.jpg I had power brakes installed, they still arent working quite right but I'll figure that out soon I hope http://i.imgur.com/6S0c18hl.jpg Was bleeding the brakes and had to try the slot mags out, may fit these this summer http://i.imgur.com/QLbO85bl.jpg Here are a few more pictures of the truck. http://i.imgur.com/jJohfayl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/mit4aPkl.jpg Feeding grounds for the Chevrolet pickup http://i.imgur.com/rXuigFXl.jpg Will get more pictures soon - Adam |
Re: Adams 67 K10 Build
Looking good Adam.
I think those slots will look great on your truck. |
Re: Adams 67 K10 Build
I like the slots too. Put em on and post more pics when you do.

Re: Adams 67 K10 Build
I like the slots, are those 8 or 10" wide?
|
Re: Adams 67 K10 Build
Hey Adam nice looking truck. I like the old school mags. A local guy has a fully polished set of 15x10's and wants $1200. A lot of cash but they look sweet. I found a set of Alcoa 15x10's for $250. Can't wait to get a set of 33 12.5 15 mud tires(not sure of brand yet) on them.

Re: Adams 67 K10 Build
Thanks for the replies everyone
The slot mags are 15x8.5, very much looking forward to getting them on, just need to sort out the finances for some tires, I've found used tires are almost as much as new so hopefully this summer I can grab a new set of BFG's for them. I feel pretty lucky to have found the mags for $400CAD in June on Kijiji, two of them were already bored out to clear the locking hubs. Haven't seen another set since then so I'm glad I jumped on them. Was out working on the truck today, will post some pictures I got today of it tomorrow. Thanks - Adam |

Some assemblly required...
http://i.imgur.com/5lVJUFHl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/khpUo75l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/NUMDcwtl.jpg I put some sound deadening inside the transmission hump to hopefully kill some gear noise, will be doing the whole floor in the spring as well. http://i.imgur.com/BplsSu1l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/zOwWUPFl.jpg Cleaned up my locking hubs, one spun freely and I found that a pin had sheared off so I fixed that up http://i.imgur.com/doWPVsYl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/79dqCPll.jpg - Adam |
Re: Adams 67 K10 Build
Looks like you have that stored in a concrete bunker.

Apparently its an old pig barn that a friend has, can't beat free right? Been working on painting my firewall, noticed some red peeking out of a few scratches on the black paint so after some sanding this is what it looked like. http://i.imgur.com/oY2MNG7l.jpg Got the truck masked off http://i.imgur.com/o0V5HtXl.jpg And the first couple coats, still have to work on the drivers side but really happy with how this is going http://i.imgur.com/55ey1ocl.jpg Going to be doing the engine in a coat of POR15 engine enamel and the core support with some semi gloss black, just need to move the masking around and remove a couple more components |
Re: Adams 67 K10 Build
Truck looks great! Makes me want to keep my original axle, hubs and drums on my 68.
|
Re: Adams 67 K10 Build
Thanks, taking some time off work to get it back together for spring. Original axle is staying for now but wouldnt mind doing discs down the road.

Making friend's at beanfest
http://i.imgur.com/qf42y6rh.jpg Won best 65-74 Truck at Pumpkin fest on the Saturday http://i.imgur.com/cqlkhYmh.jpg Picked up some seats and console out of a late 70's blazer I'm installing this winter. Bought a mig welder so I've been designing mounts to tie into the bench seat mounts as well as the old fuel tank mounting points since its no longer behind the seat. May eventually recover these but this material has certainly grown on me. http://i.imgur.com/wkQNKu9h.jpg http://i.imgur.com/5Q3AR1Jh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Iqs0wUXh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/kRUrHuVh.jpg Found an old gas station on the way back from Pumpkin fest http://i.imgur.com/APvjGh1h.jpg Hoping to get my new steel bed floor swapped this winter as well as put on the slot mags I've got for it. Have a few people interested in the wheels currently on it. |
Re: Adams 67 K10 Build
Can you get some fabric paint and paint the seats black?

Thanks El Dorado Jim, I really appreciate it. I've been really lucky to find such a great project and I can't believe how well it's turned out. |
Re: Adams 67 K10 Build
Great Build! I love that this truck made its way back to Ontario from the Yukon! :c2::metal:

Re: Adams 67 K10 Build
Finally got my mags on the truck, these are a lower offset so they stick out a bit further fixing some issues I had with the old wheels rubbing on the pitman arm. Really happy with this look. Ignore the oil and undercoating under the truck theres a couple other projects on the go with it.
