Turbonetics Benita 78/68 I got it right before they came out with all these 78/75's :banghead: I think the cold side and intercooler came from just-intercoolers on ebay 31x12x3 and there DIY intercooler piping. It all fits behind the grill too. My turbo might run out of steam a little early, I'll just have to see I guess.

Yeah I post over there a little too. I've not even fired it up yet. Well not with the turbo anyway. I've got to cerakote every thing and bolt it back up. Im switching to Holley HP too

Nice set up Five O. Is there any reason your cold side increases in size right before the throttle body? I havent seen that before.

First off, the guy in the video is annoying. The guy who said he sounds like a used car salesman nailed it. lol.

That is on the low end. I helped tune a truck this summer that made 530hp/580 lb-ft at 10 psi with a 475 borg.

DEcide on the turbo, and I'll help you pick a wastegate. Too large of a WG can make it tough to control at low boost levels (this is also partially determined by how the overall amount of exhaust pressure we have to work with, a function of both the displacement, piping and turbo selection). Too small of a wastegate will increase the chance of creeping and spiking.

Essentially, you want the smallest gate possible that still eliminates creep. This is why some will choose to go with twin-smaller WG's in place of a massive dump. Its easier for the smaller diameter valves/springs to have "crisp" control over the boost levels.

Depending on the turbo used, he might need as big of a gate as he can get. I had a Precision 46 on mine last year and it was creeping all the way to 15 psi with a 7 lb spring in the gate. I switched this year to a 60mm Turbosmart, and optimized the gate priority, and it still creeps to 10-11 psi with a 7 lb spring in it. With a large turbine and housing, there is just not enough backpressure to force exhaust out the WG. If i had a more restricive turbine, it would not be a problem to flow enough out the WG to maintain low boost. I don't really mind though, because 10 psi is as low as I'd ever want to go anyway ;)

We're not special enough for variable geometry turbos yet :(

Mostly because I don't like the look of the silicone reducers. Its the same size as the throttle body opening and it was easier to weld the blow off valve and manifold too. I'm not sure if it'll cause me any issues or not. If it does it'll be easy to replace it. I had those pieces laying around so I'm not out anything.

I was waiting for Wasted to show up. I love that blazer and your fab skills.

Five O-Ah got it. Is your engine solid mounted? I like the idea of V bands for the cold size. I've always been concerned about it cracking.

I would call show-truck shennanigans on this....saying that nobody would do that for a street driven rig...but I know that's not true :thud:

Fr8train is a friend of mine and I built his wiring harness before he progressed and outgrew the stock PCM capabilities. I hate the exhaust through the hood as it spreads water and crud all over the hood and roof of the car as he runs e85. Yea it is extremely fast but not worth the mess that gets all over the car. Obviously the silver truck has never been run because the exhaust pipe is clean as new inside.

You guys have it all wrong. It's a defrost for the windshield. You don't want to see heater hoses running through the firewall.

Drive it down the road in the 3* temps here. I wonder if 1300* exhaust on one side and 3* (+sensible temp from WC also), would crack a windshield.

I would love to see that thing on the 2 step with fire shooting 2' over the windshield:metal:
