So after getting the entire frame coated I then started to get the new "C" notch layed out so it could be installed..

Pic #1. The layout of notch.
Pic #2. The new notch in place. I weld mine in rather than bolting..
Pic #3. The backside of notch.
Pic #4. The passenger side..

That's coming along nice. About how much encapsulator did it take to cover the frame.

Thanks, Ryan

Ok, in this update I have jumped ahead....At this point the chassis was painted all black and the control arms have been rebuilt.
I used energy suspension bushings for the arms and moog ball joints.
Pic #1. The components being painted silver for a contrast..
Pic #2. The rear springs..(if you look close it has poly bushing in the eye.I turned them down to fit the eye) I did this because the small sleeve version was not poly.
Pic #3. The front parts..
Pic #4. I made a template for the front shocks..this is a brace to keep the mounts from flexing so much.
Pic #5. a look at what it will look like

Since I was a little kid there is something about a really clean nicely painted chassis with new hardware that speeds up the pulse. Still does...looks great!

Yea I feel the same way. When I see this part of a build in a thread, magazine, or in person I just love it. Not sure why. But I do.

Ryan.

Those CPP mounts look to be a good set up for the LS.

Yep, rust worms got it....looking forward to the cure.

Hey Doug, correction on the motor mounts. They are Early Classic (ECE) mounts not CPP...Jim

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Thanks Jim! The mounts look well designed. And I notice the AC compressor clears on this frame. The LS packages nicely.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

It does clear pretty good...may end up getting a diff. setup for the ac brackets do to the new A/C kit came with the sanden pump so will need a new bracket for the diff. pump..
