I had a few cans of VHT 'cast iron grey' left over from another project, so that's what she got hit with, instead of the usual Chevy Orange. Fel-Pro oil pan gasket, timing cover gasket set, Fel-Pro rear main seal, new Water pump & wp gaskets (old one was super corroded inside) & new Carter fuel pump - I bumped the motor into the crossmember on the way out and bent the inlet tube on the other one - oops!

This motor was pretty grimy on the bottom. I pressure washed underneath after soaking it in degreaser before pulling it, but it was a bit of a chore getting all the gunk off without making a huge mess in the shop and on the driveway in front of the shop.

The oil pan rail was pretty wavy, which is why it was leaking - I got after it with a body hammer and dolly and smoothed it out a fair amount. If it leaks, I'll be back to buying kitty litter!

btw - old cork gaskets that were slathered in 'high-tack' gasket adhesive ON BOTH SIDES (!!!!) are a PITA to scrape off...:ito:

Of course, the older sister Irma got jealous over Wanda getting some attention, so naturally she finally got the 295/30/20 rear tires she's been hollering about ! I must've measured the wheel wells every which way 10x over, up on jacks with the bags deflated to make sure everything would fit. Most people only run a 255 or 275 on the back of these cars, but I was hellbent on stuffing a 295 in there and thank goodness it all cleared, barely, but it's all good.

These girls won't be getting much else this year, Daddy's broke now!!

Sweet wagon! I'm a wagon fan myself. Mine's a 65 Buick skylark with the engine, trans, wiring harness, dash cluster and steering column out of a 99 Chevy Silverado.

I cringed at the pictures of the deer incident, but it looks likeshe's in good hands. Nice work to Wanda and Irma.
