Thanks to fellow member 1320 we have a correct seat cover in route for the 71! With pretty much every vendor having covers on back order it was a stroke of good luck to get one bought. Another piece to the puzzle checked off the list!

That's great JT, can't wait to see the seat cover in there, I need to do mine eventually.

Finally got around to getting the seat back in the truck with the help of some really good friends a few weeks ago. Then a nice Sunday cruise to round out a great Mother’s Day weekend.

The truck looks great, and I like all three generations you have - a lot. if that was my place I think I would sleep out there. There are three beds after all, plus a borrowed one, what more could you want?

Thanks for the kind words. The shop is my favorite place to hangout. It will be air conditioned this summer for the first time so really looking forward to that!

Don’t have a lot to update on but we did take the truck to c10s in the park in Waxahachie Texas and had an absolute blast. Got a set of new 285/75s on the freshly powered coated wheels on the truck just in time for the show!

That is one nice truck. Growing up and living in East Texas all my life. I'd bet that I have never seen more than a half a dozen K Model trucks.

Been making some slow progress on the motor swap. I have spent a lot of time here on the forum researching and trying to address all the little details that were not correct under the hood while I’m in here. Obviously I’m like everyone else and only want to do this once. When I get some time in the coming week I’m going to push the truck outside and power wash the engine bay. I’m somewhat concerned about destroying the grease pencil markings on the firewall. Still up in the air on what procedure would be best to retain all markings. Once power washed I am going to move onto paint. I have a whole bunch of items going out for powder coat this week. This is a long slow process especially when on a tight budget. But I truly believe it will be worth it in the end. Stay tuned more updates to come.

Josh, I think as long as you don't use aggressive brake clean or any mineral spirits based cleaner, you should be ok with the chalk markings. Is going back to ram horns one of your changes? The gear vendors sure will make it nice to drive.

Yes sir it is getting an actual era correct 350 with ram horns and all the original fixins. I think the gear vendors will be awesome. Larry Davis did it on his 71 and he said it was a game changer!

Thank you sir! It’s a work in progress but we are slowly getting there. Trying to do the truck justice.
