Since we are talking cop cars! This is my daily driver, 2013 Police Taurus, AWD with 3.5L twin turbo Ecoboost engine, 365hp. It started out as a South Dakota State Patrol cruiser.
It gets 21 mpg consistently, is super reliable, and sure-footed in the winter. Plus it goes like stink when you want it to.
I'm thinking about finding a Police Explorer next, and I will for sure get this drive train again.

You meant real Carter AFBs, right? I was given to believe that the secondary carburetor had no choke on the competition models. Maybe that was a Chrysler thing?

I always liked those Javelin's. I remember as a kid going to the AMC dealer with my parents and saying "Get one of these.. Get one of these"

They ignored me and bought a 4 door Hornet. :dohh::no:

Makes sense. If you ever want to sell the originals, you could make a mint!

Since my '95 K2500 Suburban is a former Cobb County Georgia Sheriff Dept. K-9 search and rescue unit, I might as well show a some Suburban police vehicles... and mine (you can still see where the graphics were in the right light. All but one of these are your municipal pkg Suburbans. Base trim but with trim on sides and bumpers, no luggage rack, and hydro-boost brakes. I don't know about anything else

If we had only known then what the value of this stuff was going to be in 30-50 years!

Unmarked but still cool:
This is the newest edition to the fleet. 2004 Impala 9C1. Originally a NC detective car. Unmarked it's whole life. When it was decommissioned, it was bought by my nephew and was his ride while he was attending Rutgers. He liked that it had a "Surveillance Mode" button that killed all the lights, inside and out. Ticket writing light, HD cooling, PS cooler, Oil Cooler, external Trans Cooler, Ice cold A/C, but pretty basic otherwise. Many miles were put on it.

While he was home on a break, a HUGE oak tree hit it across the cowl/windshield wiper area. Totaled the car but he found someone to rebuild it for what the insurance company gave him. Continued to drive it until he graduated and took it from NJ to his first Army post in Arizona. Then his current station in Ft. Bragg. He then left for Afghanistan for a year and left it with us in Atlanta. Once he returned he drove it for another year in NC then decided to buy a new car. I could not let it go for the trade in of $450 so I bought it from him.

The car has a lot of miles but rides fine and tracks true and straight. My daughter has adopted it and will be taking it off to Georgia Southern this fall. (if they open)

During COVID, I have been slowly restoring it out of pure boredom. New Stereo with Back up camera, 4 speakers, alarm for keyless entry, painted wheels and body side trim, took care of ignition key cylinder rebuild, regular maintenance and such.

I would have done the same thing and bought it. $450 for that car is just ridiculous.

7" Ford Accurides. I had them painted argent on my old '92 K2500 to look more stock-ish. The tires are 255/85s

I wonder if this is an actual pursuit vehicle. I think the temptation to race would be unfightable for rider being pursued
