I cut the chasis behind the middle chasis mounts 9 1/2inchs back and i took the rear chasis of a 1998 wrecked extended cab under the cab but i dont remember the measurements for that

my gap between the bed and cab is 1 1/2inchs my friends has a 1997 extended cab the gap on it was 2 inchs i dont know why but it looked like too much gap to me. but Ill measure the rear frame for you today and get some more info and pictures for you today. I can email you some pictures if you want. It just wont let me post any yet for some reason.

Thanks! I've only finished it up last week, i'm really liking it. I can't recall seeing another lowered crew around town, with the exception of the chopped white one but its a long box.

I know the one you're talking about. Haven't seen him around for a while though.
Was the front conversion as simple as swapping spindles? Or did you have to change control arms and/or crossmember too?

It was on kijiji last winter. Here's a pic of it for anyone wondering what we are talking about.

As far as the conversion goes. The rear is just a dif swap with a conversion u-joint to mate the 3/4 dif to the 1/2 ton. The front was a little more involved, the lower control arms are the same as well as the tie rods. Spindles, dust shields, upper control arms, brakes, brake hoses and callipers are all from the 1/2 ton. I used a 1/2 ton 4/6 drop kit.

Cool. So the rear spring perches were the same distance apart on the 1/2 ton diff?

edit for above... totally missed the part that stated 98-2000 trucks.

does it help that i WISH it was a factory ccsb??

i just missed a white 2000 2500 twd. been seeing it for years at this guys house as his dd, then twice in two weeks i passed and the hood was up. i strongly resisted the urge to stop in and offer cash. my bad too... now when i pass there is a 2013 gmc there and havent seen the cc again.

Where did you pick them up from and how hard were they to install. I want to do the same to mine. Id gladly make you a good deal on my black rims if you were not so far away. I plan to put some newer GM rims on my this spring. The next version after the ones you have on.

Re: 1998-2000 Crew Cab short bed's? Post your Pics!

They used that wheel up until 2010. They got new center caps in 07 with the new body style. After that, the wheel bolt pattern changed. The wheels were on the truck when I got it, And I plan on keeping them. The wheels were off a 2009 3/4 Suburban, and the caps are 99-06 .

The clearance lights were easy to install. I got them from the local yard, so I grabbed all the wiring. The terminal was missing on the convenience center on my truck, so I tapped in at the headlamp switch.

Here it is when I first got it:
