This is my truck about a month ago. Stock-Save a crappy single stage white paint job and manual locking hubs to replace the self destructing auto-lockers. Underneath that crappy paint job, i discovered a litte rust due to the drip rails being put back on poorly and letting water in. I got it down to the metal, treated in and took it in to have the trouble spots fixed. So, naturally, now its completely stripped of the interior, the front clip, doors, and bed are all off. The motor is out and i'm rebuilding/stroking it (489-496). a 4L80 is being rebuilt for it. The adapter for the 205 has been reindexed for the 4L80. It is going to be a metallic orange/white two tone. Haven't decided yet if i want to do it the 73-80 style two tone or the 81+. Probably will depend on if I can find a decent set of the fender trim for the 73-80 style. I just can't leave well enough alone.

All I know for certain, is this is the most expensive 2 inches of rust I have ever dealt with.

Here mine....

1990 1ton that was a fire truck for Roseville FD in the twin cities until fall of 2013. 51000 miles. I shortened the frame and lifted it this year. Looking at doing a LS swap with 4speed auto. I'll attach before and after.

They claim it is a 76'.
I also think you are talking about the paint job? I would get the paint changed to a solid color.
