When you are all done, can I bring down my truck and have you do the work on mine?!? :)

You're going at this much further than I ever expected!

This is interesting... I don't think I've seen that trim used only for the lower trim line, especially a 81-91. White cab, white lower, yellow in the middle?

that's funny, i typed out exactly what I'm doing then erased it all not to ruin the surprise for you! lol yes i couldn't see putting those rubber moldings on instead of these earlier model ones not running the upper moldings just the lowers the clips they give you to install these from LMC are way too big we found some smaller ones and it worked out great took forever to get them just right!

Surprise it is then! Cool. I like the idea for the trim. Matches the wheel-well moulding too.

I've got to do a similar roof rust repair on my 77 coming up. Do you happen to have any pics of the structure under the roof skin repairs in post 64? Or is it just the inner sheet metal and outer skin? Especially interested in the work you did near the A and B pillars.
Truck looks great! Thanks, Mick

i didn't take any pics of the cleaning all the crap out of there it was a mess we blew it out for hours then soaked it down with rust inhibitor till it ran out the bottom there is a little drain that runs out the sides to the rear of the B pillar we were careful not to clog them up when repairing everything else. once it was all cleaned out and new metal welded in we used duraglass with the fibers in it that stuff hardens like a rock man!

OK, thanks for the extra pics. Guess I'll just break into it and hope for the best. Projects like this are good inspiration. Thanks again man. Good luck.

That B-pillar drain, I never knew it was there. Where does it drain from? The top seal? I think your PO added the spray foam. I had to dig in the inner cab a little recently on my 85 and it had a sticky tar-like something or other on the backsides of the metal in there.

the way we found it was when we were cleaning the foam crap out of the roof we we were blowing the air into the cavity and you could see dust blowing out from the bottom of the b pillar on both sides of the truck so we made sure to preserve it and not clog them up my guess is they are there so if any moisture forms in there it has a way to exit ??

funny i went to install the side steps i picked up and found all the holes predrilled in all the exact locations seems the PO must have had the same steps installed at one point we sprayed bedliner to the underside of the body and up in the fender wells before we wet sand today so any overspray will get taken care of at the same time starting to look good I'm digging it!:smoke: not sure why some pics get turned sideways they were straight when i attached them?
