Re: Project Patina Burb
No, I sold it last October. We had another little girl, Lizzy, last August. Between my small business doing really bad and hospital bills started coming in, I sold it. I didn't miss it until April

Re: Project Patina Burb
Looking back at the original post in this thread, you can see the original second row seat that I gave away had the four brackets on the rear. I'll probably use one of them to bolt the 3 point harness to.

Here's my hatch that I picked up from the owner of SOKY Classics

Re: Project Patina Burb
Got alot of the wiring done on the air ride today. I'm running Slams in the front and the PO gave me these HUGE Goodyear bags that I'm using on the rear. I believe they came from a bus. I also am using the older style Ride Tech Digital Pressure sensor and 4 sensors that I got from smbrouss70.
I mounted the tank and the compressor. Also put the valves together with pressure sensors and mounted them in the best locations. Wired everything up, but I don't have a battery in it. I've had it on schrader valves for awhile now. I still have to wire up the switch box and put some 90 degree fittings on the rear, wire up the compressor with relay, and mount the water trap(I just ordered it). |
Re: Project Patina Burb
okay, finished up the wiring today on the air bags except for wiring up the switch box. I needed a few more connectors.
I had some help from my daughter, Halen, who loves to work on it with me. http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/m...b/25ef2ef5.jpg Dropped the drive shaft and got a measurement on how much to shorten it for it to fit the 4L60E. |

Very nice!

I think I have you on FB  Are you bryan?
Anyways, cool build Im following along. |
Re: Project Patina Burb
Got most of the fuel line ran today. Still have to install the tank, but all the line has been ran to the rear of the burb.
|
Re: Project Patina Burb
Got the tank in and wired up. Got it off jack stands for the first time in a couple of months.
Still messing with the new wiring harness. It's an 21 circuit EZ Wiring harness and it's a bit overwhelming to say the least. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Project Patina Burb
Subscribed. Cant wait to see it on the Power Tour :metal:

Re: Project Patina Burb
Got a few things done today. I got my carpet kit in from Brother's this week also. I'm kind of collecting parts as of late.
Cleaned up some of the metal interior trip today with the bench grinder. I slapped the wire wheel attachment on it and cleaned most of the surface rust that was on them. |
Re: Project Patina Burb
I also saw another problem I'm going to have to deal with due to the PO shaving certain things.
I have a good hatch, but the push button has been shaved so I'm not sure how I'm going to get it open from the outside. |
Re: Project Patina Burb
Got any progress pics Bryan?
|
Re: Project Patina Burb
Here are a few Rus, still fighting with the wiring harness and need someone with a few welding skills. Here's a few shots I just took. You can see the button is shaved on the rear and what it looks like inside.

Looking good! What are you needing welded?

Re: Project Patina Burb

Re: Project Patina Burb
Dang, Bryan. I'm gonna have a bad dream tonight about that pic of all those wires in the floorboard, lol. I really like your Suburban, to me they are kind of like the ultimate vehicle. Glad there's another guy around here who is gonna be fighting with air ride stuff (more wires). I've been thinking, and I'm pretty sure I met you in Murfreesboro at the cruise in by the mall. Me and a guy with a bagged red and white '66 were talking when you came up, and we both ended up comng to White House for the Nats. It was my truck's first trip after I got it driveable (and before I completely took it apart, again). I hope to make it a yearly tradition. See you soon!

Re: Project Patina Burb
Yes, Matt we did have a good conversation about your stepside.
I actually got most of the air bag stuff done, its the rest of the stuff that is kicking my butt. |
Re: Project Patina Burb
Funny how a hobby can be so dang hard, ain't it?

Re: Project Patina Burb
Rusbuilt, thelonerife, cubber, and I rode up to Todd68Chevy's place in Indiana to pick up a few parts. The main thing we grabbed was Rusbuilt's c20 frame for his dually project which he has to have done by April 4th. I grabbed a few things for my build-mirror arms and a radiator. Also Chuck(thelonerife) had a box of freebies that I grabbed a couple of door handles and a few door lock knob's for it.

Re: Project Patina Burb
April 4th!! Man I better get on it... Haha

Re: Project Patina Burb
Got the radiator in that I bought from Todd68Chevy. Not sure if the shroud will work or not. I made a post in another thread, but never got a definite yes or no.
Also cleaned up the door panels and painted them. Didn't realize I did not have a third door panel, so I'll be on the lookout for one. Also picked up a radio delete for the burb off of ebay. I'll have a hidden stereo somewhere. It has a whole in it, but I had the idea to put my Air Ride Tech digital air readout there. So it will look cool, I think. http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/m...psffa5d5bd.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/m...psbdc66a5b.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps9235e5cd.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps8f053297.jpg |
Re: Project Patina Burb
I like that color blue!
|
Re: Project Patina Burb
Is the radiator right but not sure about the fan or is the radiator an issue?? Is the door panel you need a Suburban only or just a standard door panel?
|
Re: Project Patina Burb
Looks like some good progress!
|
Re: Project Patina Burb
The radiator is installed correctly and so is the shroud. The motor just sits back farther then the original. I have a set of duel fans that were given to me. I would just rather use the original if possible.
I believe the third door panel is different. That blue looked good, I was impressed. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Project Patina Burb
I was just afraid the radiator was incorrect. I bought it with stuff and sometimes things are not what you are told they are. LOL I do not know if you looked at mine but my fan does not sit in my shroud because the V8 is in the 6 cyl. stands and sits back to far. With everything being black it is harder to notice on mine. I am sure someone on here has the answer to the question that you have.

Re: Project Patina Burb
I painted the dash today and also bought my audio stuff. Decided not to even run a head unit. Just plug the Ipod/Iphone in and rock! :bryan:
Here is the Sony unit: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_158XDPM...58#details-tab http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/m...psb121c270.jpg |
Re: Project Patina Burb
I know I told you before but I really like that blue! What paint is that!
|
Re: Project Patina Burb
It's the GM blue from the engine paint at oreilly's.

Re: Project Patina Burb
Ahh ok!

Re: Project Patina Burb
I considered not using a head unit as well, but I ended up going with one that has an aux jack and usb port, and so far I have been pleased. The dash looks great!

Re: Project Patina Burb
Inherited71 came over tonight and we got a little more done on the wiring harness. I got a few more things done also.
Halen took apart the tilt column and prepped it for paint. She also installed the ashtray and new rubber bumpers. She sanded the glove box for me so I could paint it also. She wanted to paint it, but daddy's not THAT nice. http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps70067e8e.jpg I got my radio delete that i bought off of ebay today and I went to hacking on it. I'm very pleased with the look of it. http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/m...psa3111a18.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/m...psb9292f28.jpg |
