At times. Usually it's polar opposite of you guys back in the colder parts of North America. Here it's supposed to be 90* this coming weekend and we start slowing down when it goes above there. Start saying "I'll do that once it cools off". :waah:
Your column looks *****in:metal:

I know it's been a LONG time, but I finally did a little work on the chassis for Walt. PB extreme front & rear dropmembers, PB bolt on body drop. Drug the stuff into my man cave room to just tinker on it in the A/C :D.

Good eye... It's actually a trickflow intake for a 351W. I'm building a 418ci FI motor for my 74 Bronco :)

Any updates on Walt and the shop.

nlped 04-25-2017 02:19 PM

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short

Unfortunately, I really haven't done much to either. I've sold my '70 GMC and most of the parts I'd gathered for it and I've purchased quite a few additional parts for Walt. I do actually hope to finally get back around to working on him very soon.

The 'shop' turned into a cluster and is in limbo. The day after having the drainage and backfill placed we had a fluke day of thunderstorms and 4-1/2" of rain. Well, all that pressure and volume overpowered the drains and packed the dirt so quickly that the wall cracked in several places. Everyone started pointing fingers at this guy or that and my shop build came to a screaming halt. Not sure what I'll do there.

Still no updates on Walt. Unfortunately, I’m contemplating selling it and the EXTENSIVE collection of parts. Not sure about that yet though, as I don’t want to sell it all piecemeal.

Since I did make mention of my shop build in this thread, here are a few shots of how it looks today. Final dimensions are 36’x46’x14’. Not as big as I’d planned, but the lot dictated the final size. I’m still moving into it, but I’m plugging along.

Finally got Walter moved into the new shop. As soon as I finish the Falcoon I’m going to finally get started on him. No paint work, just tons of suspension, brakes & such! I’m stoked to death.

Gotta follow along for the updates on Walt! Chassis was looking good so you should have a big jump on moving forward.

Let’s see a pic of yours? And, thanks, I’m glad to finally get started on it too. Looks like we are almost neighbors.

Try some CLR on that paint. You will be surprised at the results.

Ryan, that’s GREAT to hear. I love Laymond because he reminds me of my vision for Walt.

So... Kim is gonna let you keep "Walter" and the '77 too? I think she is a real keeper! I would go out and buy her a brand new car! Oh, wait... you already did that. :)

Since I’m going to keep Walt, I Decided to use the 468/th400 out of Chubby (my 67 C30 camper), so I got him running & moved him into the shop today. It fired right up (after a new battery & gas hose into a gas can) and it went right into gear like a champ. Walter will be a beast with that motor & trans.

Got home this evening and started the removal of the donor motor & trans. I got the core support, radiator and some very interesting parts pulled. I'll try to pull the inner fenders, wiring, plumbing etc tomorrow. Then mounts, fluids etc Wednesday and then whatever I couldn't figure out on Thursday night. Then I hope to get the motor/trans out on Friday. I need to get this beast outta the shop!

Inside of the motor is absolutely spotless which is great. It has an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake & camshaft, and 049 oval port heads...I’m very pleased with what I’ve got. And the TH400 was spotless too.
