I'm hoping the learning curve will be easier on the other side. I think there will be less to repair over there. Most of damage on passenger side had to do with leaking windshield and trash in the air box. More pics:

Thanks for all the encouragement. The last month has been slow go. Kids started back to school, job, work is crazy, I was sick for a week....:blah: . Anyway, here is a little update. I've finally got everything welded up on the pasenger side. I think it came out pretty good for a first timer. I learned a few things that will hopefully make the drivers side a little easier. With the door on, the body lines line up fairly well. I also cut the drivers side rocker off. There is not as much rust on this side:) , so hopefully it will go a little quicker.

I also got the airbox pieced back together and have most of the firewall welded up and ground smooth.

Here are some pics of the drivers side. There's not as much damage as on the other side. After I cut the rocker off, I did a trial fit with the new one. Hopefully I'll get this wrapped up in the next couple of weeks (assuming we don't have to Hurrevac:rolleyes: ). I'm going to replace the rear quarters and the tail light panels next. I think this will be quite a bit easier than floorboard and rockers. We'll see............

You are moving along good Rob. I know what you mean about slow down, tween kids and work, who knows when I can spend some quality tim e with the ole 70.

More updates. I started on the drivers side but decided to do it a little bit different than the other side. On the passenger side, I cut out all the rust and then started fitting the pieces back together. This time, as I removed each rusted piece, I prefit the new piece. Hopefully this will allow all the pieces to come together a little quicker. I got all the rust removed and the new pieces cut yesterday. I will start piecing it all back together this week.

Thanks. I can't wait to get done with the rockers/floor boards. This is the hardest part of the rust repair (and the least noticeable). The rest should be fairly easy........... quarters/tail lights/ gas door install.

I'm back in the GAME!!!! After 5 weeks of being on the road, I finally got a little bit accomplished this weekend. I welded in the floor and part of the inner rocker. Hopefully I will get the rest welded in by the end of the week and then I will start on the rear quarter panels.

Keep us posted on that engine install I'm doing the same installation in a 1958 Chevy Truck. I have the engine, trans, computer, and all the wiring I'm just not a the point of installation yet, still doing body work.

First of all, I hope all the Vets out their had a great Veterans day. Thanks to their dedication and sacrifice, we all get to enjoy the freedom to do or have just about anything that we want.

Well, since I got the day off, I tried to get some more work done on the Burb. I actually feel like I got something accomplished. I finished up the drivers floor, kick panel and rocker. I then welded up some holes that the previous owner had put in the dash. And finally, I cut off both rear lower quarter panels!!!!!!!

I started filling the holes on the upper body trim. 6 down and 41 to go:whine: . I got tired of that pretty quickly so I cut the rear lower quarters off. All I need to do now is sandblast (mostly surface rust) and POR15 the inside and then I can weld the new panels back on.

Add me to that list, please. If I can be productive enough this weekend (been saying this for a while), I might be posting video of my "first" fireup of the engine :)

After that, it's a fight to get the stupid clutch bracket fabbed.

What's the colors you have picked out? Do you plan to do a front roll pan instead of the bumper??

Looks like I'll have to do a little tweaking around the door frame, but I guess that is pretty common.
