Re: Let`s See Little GM Haulers

'86 S10 that my Dad bought new in '87. I once had 33" tires on it when I put the lift on it. I was driving it an hour to work each way and the tires beat me to death so I had to swap them, I put a new motor and trans in it all factory 2.8 with a 5 spd. I wanted a 3.8 out of a Camaro but the mechanic wanted a grand extra to do the swap. It was driven for about a year then parked. I ended up selling it so it wouldn't sit and rot..Good little truck...

I just picked up this little 93 sonoma.

It has a newer 4.3 vortec with a manual valve bodied tranny with bump shifter.

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b6...s/IMG_3132.jpg

Since I got rid of my Rx7 a few years back, I forgot about driving a low clearance vehicle. From the bottom of the ladder bars to the pavement is about 3"-4", another inch to the bottom of the diff.

I've already re-tinted it and fully cleaned it up. Took off the SS stickers and fixed the stereo, etc.

Few more pics for everybody.

First an update on my 98 Sonoma;

Got the TPI motor sittin in it anyway. Still wanna get it lower and farther back.

And another S-truck added to the family.
This one is my sons. It's a 96 with 2.2/auto trans. Needs a motor though. It'll be his first vehicle. Hopefully we'll get a chance to work on it before long.

That TPI looks good in there. What your plans for a wiring harness? I'd like to add a vortec 350 to my 96 sonoma someday. I'm hoping i can just add to my stock wiring harness if i stay vortec.

I've got a stand alone harness for the tpi. I wanted to do the modded stock harness as well, but all the wiring gurus told me there's just to big of gap, in years, between the truck and the tpi system. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do about the stock instruments yet but I'd like to find a way to make 'em work. If not it'll probably get an aftermarket setup.

Just a few weeks ago I spotted a wrecked 99 or so chevy truck. I've been seriously considering starting over if I can aquire the wrecked truck for a reasonable sum.

I really want a manual trans too, (Tremec 5 speed or a T56), no matter which engine I end up with. LOL

Here's mine, hopefully it will be bagged in the near future... I may bodydrop it at the same time!! Oh, and it's about 2 inches lower in the back now due to 4" blocks. The rear tires barely tuck. It also has a little ol' 350, 700r4, shorty headers, 2-1/2" dual exhaust going into Magnaflow cats, flowmaster 40's and dumping underneath the bed before the axle. It's came along way, but has a ways to go.

1993 Chevy S-10. This is my 3rd time owning this truck. I bought it from a widow with 35k miles on it -> sold it to my step dad -> bought it back when he didn't want it anymore -> sold it with 68k miles on it -> searched craigslist and bought it back with 111k miles on it. Drove it through the winter, decided to do a 5.3L swap.

I'm not sure what the seats are, but the console/shifter is out of a 3rd gen S-truck/blazer I'll bet!
Looks just like the one I'm puttin in my Sonoma.

Another question for ya Jonce; What's the big notch in the right side frame rail for? AC pump?

The seats look like 91 - 94 blazer buckets, IMO

Seats are from a S10 Blazer as guessed. The big notch on the passenger side was for the A/C pump. Although it did fit (the pump itself), the pulley was too close for my comfort level. I run with the windows down now.

I believe the center console came from the late 90's Blazers with the floor shift. I finally have cup holders. I wished I would've waited and bought the same color center console but it actually matches the dash and doesn't look too out of place.

Soon to install LS1 intake and camshaft, as well as a Nelson Performance tune.

Here's my 2002 Blazer Extreme that I bought a few weeks ago. It's got the 4.3 and Auto trans. It drives straight and smooth at highway speeds.
The previous owner messed up the dash bezel and nearly every panel; installing a CD player and speakers. :waah:
Gas mileage is 12-15mpg; which I don't think is that great. I haven't been lead-footing it either.

The white/gray Extended cab; in the above post; developed a knock in the engine. I'm seriouslly thinking about the V8 swap.

Finished lowering my S10 4/5. It received Spohn tubular upper and lower control arms, DJM drop 2" springs, BellTech Nitro shocks, all new GM steering components (minus the box itself) with Ride Tech billet tie-rod adjuster sleeves up front.
In the back it received Summit 3" drop leaf springs, 2" cast iron blocks and Ground Force shocks to finish it off.

Then last week I got new wheels and tires put on the S10. It's now on US Mags Ramblers. I got them wrapped in Nitto NT555 G2 rubber. It actually rides better with a 4/5 drop than it ever did with the 2/3 drop.

Shop truck! Leaving the logos on? Usually a company will take that off. I think it's a cool theme.
