Uhh ... yeah, I did. As I said, I wanna see some pics directly from the side. Not at an angle from the front. Not at an angle from above. Eyeball level with the headers and perpendicular to the frame. Kinda like my first pic on the previous page, but from an even lower angle. I wanna see the clearance and the angles on the pipes on both sides before I drop that kinda money on this project. I've spent hours looking at build threads and pics and haven't seen what I'm looking for, thus my request. :)

Deuce, just ask for part # thy324y. Tell them to add a "c" if you want ceramic coating. The catalog they have is probably from last year.

NO, these only come ceramic coated.

These are 14ga mild steel.

They should. Your motor mount setup will be the only thing that could be an issue. What do you plan on doing for that?

Does anyone know if these headers will fit my 65 1/2 ton pu and if so what mounts would be required. Contemplating this swap on my truck. Thanks in advance and very nice looking product.

jaime...my truck is back on the road...

'81 c10 swb with an LS5.3 and th350....motor mounts are standard 6 hole plates that move everything 1" forward.

Do you still need a 73-87 tester?? I'm in SoCal and could be your victim.

I might have missed it, but will these work on a 4x4? I can't quite tell from the pics if they will clear the shackles. Also, are they available without the coating yet?

Just a quick note for anyone else looking for a dipstick. There's a typo in the first post in the thread. The correct part number for the Lokar dipstick is ED-5008 and not ED-5800 as listed. Hope this helps someone! :)

Re: The LS1 swap headers are done!!!!

Ordering update: Just got off the phone with Nick @ Thorley and he's no longer offering the discounted price mentioned in the first post, but one of their distributors (BJ's Off-Road) is. Just finished placing my order. Here's the contact info:

Phone: 253-265-6678, ask for Brent (no, not me!)
URL: bjsoffroad.com (these aren't on their site, however)

My price was $525 plus $30 shipping to Minnesota. Nick @ Thorley sent an IM to Brent @ BJ's and Brent called me back within a couple minutes of my hanging up with Nick. Friendly, painless transaction. :)

It should go without saying, but just in case ... I have no connection whatsoever with this business except having placed an order with them. Posting this info to help save someone a phone call.

Brent

Hey, do your tri-y headers for the original style small block in a C10 hang below the frame?

These look pretty quality. Anyone think they'd fit a 5.7 with a 4l80e mounted to a Porterbuilt Dropmember. This is all stuffed in a 67 btw. Thanks in advance.

Here are my pics. This is a '69 frame with a 5.3 / 4lL60.

Will the exhaust man be able to make a slight bent in my exhaust pipe (just out of the header) to make it up and over the OEM cross member??

Also, I need more information on the plug wires I need to use. I would like to find some that are already cut to the proper length. Any ideas??

If you look close, I had already cut my frame before I bought these.

Very pleased with these headers!!!

My stock exhaust ran UNDER that crossmember, that is how i plan on running it this time (duals).
there are MSD or Taylor wires that can be used. MSD comes in Red or Black; Taylors are red, black, and blue. $75 shipped for MSDs and $65 for Taylors.
*today I have also tried to get my plugs and wires installed and realized the stockers were not going to work so I will be using the Taylors.

boostat4500 08-01-2009 03:58 PM

Re: The LS1 swap headers are done!!!!

Quick heads up on the wires. Spend the extra for the MSD wires. I've used both the MSD and Taylor wires. The Taylor were crap. The first time I had to remove them, 4 of the 8 came apart and were trash. And they were only on the truck less than 1k miles. I've had the MSD's on and of multiple times on many different vehicles and never had a problem. Just my .02

All I need is a part number for the MDS's (or a description that I can look up) so I can place an order. I would like to get the right wires right off the bat.

Thanks for the input!!! I was almost sold on the Taylor wires.
