What I meant was that someone might help themself to your pump, but it sounds like you'll have it behind a roll pan.

Re: my 64

I say go orange on the wheels if you are going to run trim rings, and keep them black if not...
Looking good!

Captainfab 05-26-2009 12:07 AM

Re: my 64

I would say orange wheels with the center cap just like you have it, and trim rings. Orange without trim rings might look good too.....just not sure on that.

Arent electic fuel pumps pushers? If so,that one looks a little high to receive fuel to push on to the front.I guess its working since your driving it,might have problems when the cell is closer to empty. I could also be mistaken,in which case,,,,carry on.

Re: my 64

it just has to be close enough to the tank for it to pick up if it is too far away then it will have trouble

I love the smell of race fuel in the morning! Or anytime of the day. That stuff is $10/gal here.

Yeah man no problem
i got a new steering wheel
it a grant challenger with a wood ring
the neighbor is moving and he gave me that and a speaker box
here is a pic of the steering wheel
this came off of his 1966 mercury cyclone gt the P.O. painted the wood black
i sanded it down im going to stain the wood and paint the spokes SOM.
here are some pics
that is not the horn button im using the new one will be in tomorrow
i yanked the one off my dads truck to see what it would look like
the horn button i ordered is like the one at the bottom

Re: my 64

Scored a nice steering wheel! I dont get how someone can have a nice wooden wheel like that and then paint it black!

jgh64pkup 06-08-2009 10:01 PM

Re: my 64

yeah i dont understand that either all it needs is a little TLC
my neighbor took it off and put some $h!tty looking original style steering wheel on his car that he payed an arm and a leg for.
i think im going to sell my grant signature series

Re: my 64

FYI, I am not sure what color you are going to paint it but I put brake caliper paint on the inside of my backing plate and I had to scrape the paint from the shoe contact points, wow even with a razor blade that was tough going! So maybe for something that gets alot of "abuse" like a steering wheel that might just be the right paint. my 2 cents anyways.

jgh64pkup 06-09-2009 12:03 PM

Re: my 64

im going with the same color as the truck
base coat, clear coat

WOW I didn't realize you're only fourteen! How long have you been working on cars and trucks. You're doing a better job than some guys a lot older.
