Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

Does anyone know what Booster Gonnuts used? That setup looks pretty sweet and i would like it on my 1966.

Also I need a PM for the bracket please, might as well make it black powder coated too!

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

That booster is just one of the universal aftermarket boosters. You'll have to elongate the holes in my booster bracket slightly to bolt one of those to it.

I'll send you a PM with ordering info.

Thanks i got my bracket on Monday!! Mounted it today had to make the holes a little bit bigger....i think that was because i was using a universal brake booster.....looks great!!!! Thanks again!!!!

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

That looks good

That is correct in regards to elongating the holes for the booster. My booster brackets are designed to use factory boosters with the 3-3/8" x 3-1/2" stud pattern, not the aftermarket boosters with the 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" stud pattern. So the amount to elongate the holes is only 1/16" each.

Would you mind if I copied your pics and posted them in the '63-'66 booster bracket for sale thread?

if you can...please look at my set up on my brakes. it is 1968 with front disc brake conversion on it when I bought truck so I am in the dark about specifics. I am wondering if the bracket that you offer would work for me and what would I gain if used it other than giving me a more cleaner more spacious look under hood. thank a lot. your product looks great.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

if I used your bracket what would I have to change other than the push rod length? and whats the proper measuring technuiq for this?

Captainfab 09-11-2013 12:02 AM

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

Since you already have power brakes, all you will gain is looks and room. When lengthening the booster pushrod, it just needs to be done in such a way so that it is long enough, and still has adjustment available. There are a few different ways to go about it.

Here are a couple ways:

do you offer any rear disc brake conversion bracket kits? or any tips on a conversion using found parts from typical salvage yard vehicles?

Captainfab 12-08-2013 12:54 AM

Yes I have 5 rear disc brake bracket sets. There are links to the for sale threads for the 3 five lug bracket sets in my signature line. If you need 6 lug, let me know and I'll send you the links to those.

Hey, just getting started on a build of a '70 Long bed stepside. What exactly is the advantage of using this setup?

Captainfab 03-26-2014 11:15 PM

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

The purpose of my '67-'72 brake booster bracket is to get the booster and master cylinder closer to the firewall instead of hanging way out there. You do not have to use a newer booster if you don't want to. The '67-'70 is one of the compatable boosters. But if you are going to upgrade to front disc brakes, that would not be the one that I would choose. If you do go with a newer brake booster, you can find one in just about any wrecking yard or parts store.

I have 2 of these '67-'72 booster brackets that are zinc plated. The price is the same as the powder coated version which is $61.50 plus $11.65 for shipping.

Does this set up work for disk/disk? I want to use the same power booster as all of you are talking about. I am running a ls5.3. w/ a 4l60e.

Captainfab 04-16-2014 10:26 AM

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

This booster bracket will work for all types of braking systems. You will just need to use a master cylinder and prop valve for a disc/disc system with the booster that you select. Some guys recommend a dual diaphram for a disc/disc system.

Getting ready to install a setup on my 70 LB stepside. I'll post pics as I get it done and let everyone know how the conversion goes. Got my brackets from Captainfab for the Impala rear disc setup and the booter bracket as well. It's 4 wheel manual drum now. Got a pair of 2 1/2" drop spindles that'll be here tomorrow. Gonna use a Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve.
